Cooler air, even in the spring, can leave your throat feeling rough.

To help soothe irritation over time, one good starting point is to reduce alcohol consumption and smoking, since both can dry out the mucous membranes and worsen that parched feeling.

Do you have ongoing sinus infection symptoms that aren’t letting up? You may have chronic sinusitis if your symptoms last longer than just a few weeks.

One key reminder: acute sinusitis often lasts less than four weeks. Chronic sinusitis (12 weeks or longer) requires an accurate diagnosis to get to the root of the issue. Give us a call if your symptoms persist!

Stuffy nose, sneezing and fatigue can happen with both allergies and colds, so how can you tell the difference?

Allergies often cause itching in the nose, throat and eyes, while colds don’t. Colds are more likely to involve a sore throat and body aches. Another big clue: allergies don’t cause a fever.

If symptoms linger for weeks (especially during known triggers), allergies are more likely. If you’re unsure, our ENT team can help you pinpoint what’s going on and recommend a treatment plan!

Love your pet but hate the sneezing? You can reduce symptoms without giving up time with your furry friend!

Remember to thoroughly clean your home frequently (wash bedding, curtains and pet beds), run HEPA air filters, bathe your pets often with vet‑approved shampoo and set a pet‑free sleep zone.
If symptoms persist, our experts can help discuss medications or immunotherapy options.

Dry air can leave your throat feeling scratchy and sore. If cooler weather keeps your throat irritated, remember to drink plenty of water daily, limit caffeine and choose menthol‑free lozenges so you don’t dry things out further.

You might also consider trying a humidifier. If throat dryness lasts more than eight weeks, it might be time to see an ENT.
