Wilson Shinin Ochoa, 56, of Salisbury and formerly of Ecuador passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. Born August 2, 1969, he was the son of Guillermo Shinin and Maria Ochoa Shinin. A Celebration of Wilson’s Life will be held Friday, August 22, 2025, at 5 pm at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Wilson to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 514 Camden Ave, Salisbury, MD 21801.

Following cremation Jean will be buried next to her husband in Glebe Cemetery in New Castle, DE with a private ceremony.

Debra “Debbie” Messick Layfield, 69, of Salisbury passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Deer’s Head Hospital Center. Born April 17, 1956, in Salisbury she was the daughter of Gladys Lee Smith Messick and the late John Thomas Messick, Jr. A graveside service will be held Monday, August 18, 2025 at 11am at Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury. Pastor Danny Travers will officiate. The family requests everyone one dress casually for the service.
The family would like to thank everyone at Deer’s Head hospital for the care and compassion shown to Debbie during her transition in her final days. Especially the staff, doctors, and nurses on S1 and the Whispering Willow Department. A special thank you to Ben, Thomas, Jamie, Julie, Dr. Aye, and Dr. Coker.

Born August 9, 1944 in Salisbury he was the son of the late William Henry Hadder, Sr. and Gertrude Mitchell Hadder. A visitation will be held Thursday August 14, 2025 from 6-8 pm at Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury, MD and a Graveside Service will be Friday August 15, 2025 at 1pm at Parsons-Warren Cemetery at 7235 Sixty Foot Rd, Pittsville, MD.

Parks and Dorene Chastteen Parks she was raised on Tangier Island. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 25, 2025 at 11am at Bounds Funeral Home on East Main Street in Salisbury where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. His grandson Patrick McWilliams will officiate. Interment will be private.

Interment will follow at Sharptown Fireman’s Cemetery.

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Verna Lou Abel Tate Orendorf passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025 at her home in Nanticoke, Md. (Age:93). Born in Stephen, Minnesota, she was the daughter of William Abel and Elna Tranberg Abel.
Verna had three great loves: family, horses, and travel. Verna believed in living every moment of life with gusto and love. She did so with a quiet determination, confidence and love.

Founded as Hill and Johnson Funeral Home in 1877, Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury, Maryland, upholds a tradition of integrity, compassion and excellent service that generations of families on the Delmarva Peninsula rely on. We moved to our present location in 1935. The attractive 2-story brick building was the 1st custom-designed funeral home on the Eastern Shore.
