This building is a fresh start, and we’re doing it the right way. Not fast. Not sloppy. With intention.

The Overlook at Rowan is proudly part of the Ascent Healthcare Management family, and we are bringing our mountain DNA and southern hospitality to Rowan County. That means strong work ethic, honest communication, taking care of our people, and treating residents and families like they belong on our front porch, because they do.

That means we work hard, tell the truth, own our mistakes, support each other through challenges, and still find joy along the way. Caring for others is serious work, but how we treat each other matters just as much as the care we provide.

We are intentional about who we invite into this building. We are not looking for warm bodies. We are building a team of people who care deeply, show up fully, communicate honestly, and take pride in doing the right thing, even when it’s hard.

**While we are not actively hiring at this time, we will be opening very soon. This form allows us to stay connected with people who believe in this kind of work and want to help build something meaningful from the ground up.

Salisbury, NC — A new era of skilled nursing care is taking shape in Rowan County with the ongoing transformation of The Overlook at Rowan, a reimagined health and rehabilitation center dedicated to safety, transparency, and excellence in care.

The facility, located in the former Citadel Salisbury building, was previously decertified due to significant regulatory issues. Today, under new leadership and ownership, it is being restored with one goal: to rebuild trust and provide residents with the dignity, oversight, and compassionate care they deserve.

“We don’t shy away from the past — we confront it head-on,” says CEO Israel Friedman. “The Overlook at Rowan represents resilience and renewal. With strict oversight, proven processes, and a culture built on grit and grace, we are committed to ensuring this facility stands as a model of quality care — not failure.”
