Please take a moment and read through our tips to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 virus.
1) Remember F.R.O.G. when hand washing:
Friction
Rubs
Off
Germs
Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds and wash them frequently. Even when using hand sanitizer you should rub it on all surfaces of your hands vigorously for several seconds.
2) Stay home and call your healthcare provider if you begin having flu-like symptoms (fever, dry cough, fatigue, shortness of breath)
3) Avoid hugging, kissing, shaking hands, high fives or other physical contact with all persons other than immediate family.
4) Avoid touching surfaces in high traffic areas, such as grocery store counters as much as possible. The virus can live outside the body for quite a long time. Please avoid being in groups of people of 10 or more.
5) If you or someone you love is quarantined of suspected COVID-19 or exposure, all members of the household should remain home and no visitors should enter the home unless it is medically necessary.
6) Stay home if you are sick with confirmed influenza A or B to avoid the spread of this virus as well. It is difficult to tell the difference between flu and COVID-19 unless tested and new exposure to this could mean use of COVID-19 tests that may be in greater demand in the future. For your own safety, self isolate for the CDC recommended 14 days especially if your immune system is already lower due to an underlying health issue.
7) Keep yourself healthy! Get plenty of sleep, drink plenty of water, and eat as healthy as possible. Also consider taking a good multivitamin and Vitamin C.
8) We need to remember that the population of our valley includes over 50% retirees. It is the younger people’s responsibility to help keep this at-risk population healthy. If you or a family member at home have any symptoms or exposure please inform ANY persons over age of 60 that you may have contacted. I also recommend keeping all children aged 19 or younger away from elderly family or friends as well, i.e. having an elderly person babysit, etc. We know from a great deal of research in the countries that are widely affected that children have less symptoms. In fact, many were asymptomatic (showing no symptoms) and only diagnosed with COVID-19 after being traced to exposure with the virus.
Let’s work together to prevent this HIGHLY contagious spread of COVID-19. By staying calm, healthy and following precautions we will see a much better outcome in the long run.
