Tonight Demar Hamlin awarded the Buffalo Bills Athletic Trainers and Medical Staff with an Espy. When the staff walked onto the stage they did not immediately step up to accept their award, instead they went straight to their athlete and embraced him. Remembering the gorgeous Red Drum Workshop and weekend we had back in May.

We were blessed to be hosted in Kanab, bringing all of its own magic and peace. We had an incredible group, with many beautiful discussions and experiences.

It is an honor to pass on the lineage of the red drum, representing the community of women, the womb, and birth to new creativity. This one was particularly meaningful and I am grateful.

I still take this kid with me to every practice, game, and tournament.

It has been 18 years since we lost him during a game his freshman year. The pain may be less frequent, but I'm not sure it ever gets easier.

This is my grandmother. Her influence on my life has been palpable and when we are together we often hear "you are just like her!". I am the sixth generation of first-born women. All strong, dynamic and fierce. The apple has never fallen far from the tree in this family.

I'm grateful for my family and ancestors. They have taught me an incredible amount about how to show up in this world.

Change is inevitable now days. Sometimes it can feel overwhelming and even scary.

Paying attention to what you can control and have impact on.... and then letting the rest flow are ways that we can lower stress levels and not focus on what is beyond our circle of influence.
