Story time! I've been practicing yoga on and off for a few years now but could never find something I truly loved and stick with it. I've spent hundreds on yoga apps and programs, tried so many different yoga teachers and nothing fit. I would "love" them for a few weeks or even months but I still didn't have that connection I was looking for.
Fast forward to a few months ago and I come across this yoga teacher on YouTube. His name is Travis Eliot. I did a few of his classes but still never did them religiously. I found a 30 day program he did and decided to try it out. Fast forward to today and I am officially done said program. It's bittersweet because I'm sad that it's over but at the same time, I'm beyond proud of myself that I finally found something that I love and that works for me. I know I can do this 30 day program over and over again as many times as I want but it's that first round that I'll never get back. It's that sense of accomplishment that even on the days where I didn't want to step on my mat, I did. Of course I'll get part of that feeling again every time I step on my yoga mat but it's that first time, I'll never get back. Does that make sense?
I feel stronger, not sure about more flexible but I know it's better than before, and I also feel calmer and more centred within myself. If that makes sense as well. So now I'm going to do this series a 2nd time and add more of his classes to the mix. I'm in no way shape or form affiliated with him but I'm a huge supporter. I love his words of wisdom, his random poetry and his humour. Travis Eliot is officially my new favourite yoga teacher and I hope to one day be able to get his app and dive even deeper into his teachings.
So the point of this post is, do not give up. Whatever you are searching for, if it's a new fitness routine, yoga, a new job, something else entirely, you will find something that works for you.
Oh and I'm so not an expert but if you have any questions regarding yoga, I can offer advice from my own personal experience. Just please remember that I am NOT a teacher. I've just been there, so I understand that it can get overwhelming.
If you've read this far, thank you for reading! I hope you have a wonderful Friday. Stay well, my loves. ❤
