๐Ÿฆฟ Strength, Resilience, and Whatโ€™s Possible

As part of Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month ( ) โ€” led by the Amputee Coalition โ€” weโ€™re proud to share stories that inspire and redefine whatโ€™s possible.

Meet Stuart Croxford.

After serving 8 years as an infantry officer in the British Military, Stuart faced life-changing injury and limb loss. But instead of slowing down, he set a new goal: completing an Ironman.

Just two years after his amputation, he crossed the finish line in Majorca in 2016 โ€” and that was only the beginning. ๐Ÿ’ช

For Stuart, sport became more than physical activity:
It was a lifeline โ€” supporting both his mental and physical recovery, helping him stay active, resilient, and focused through challenging years.

Stories like Stuartโ€™s remind us why awareness matters โ€” and why access to the right care and support can unlock incredible human potential.

๐Ÿฆฟ Why Primary Patients Need a Different Approach

Not all prosthetic users are at the same stage, and primary patients require a very specific level of care.

๐Ÿ“š What are primary patients?

Primary patients are individuals in the early stages after amputation, where the residual limb is still healing and changing shape.

โš ๏ธ Main challenges they face:

๐Ÿ”น Rapid volume changes
๐Ÿ”น Sensitive soft tissue and pressure points
๐Ÿ”น Need for frequent fit adjustments
๐Ÿ”น Delays in starting rehabilitation
๐Ÿ”น Multiple socket replacements in a short time

This is where the Amparo System and especially the Resilience Socket makes a real difference.

๐Ÿ’ก How Resilience Socket helps:

โœ” Designed for rehabilitation and volume change
โœ” Remouldable and adjustable as the limb evolves
โœ” Supports multiple suspension systems
โœ” Compatible with weight-bearing fitting using Majicast
โœ” Helps start rehabilitation earlier, without restarting the process

The result?

โžก๏ธ A smoother path through rehabilitation
โžก๏ธ Fewer disruptions
โžก๏ธ Better comfort and continuity of care

Because for primary patients, the goal isnโ€™t just a socket, itโ€™s progress without setbacks.

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ฌ Amparo in Cairo with Orthomedics

Our recent visit to Orthomedics in Egypt showed exactly how well the Amparo System can fit into an established clinic workflow.

Over two days, we demonstrated Resilience Socket and Majicast, carried out live fittings, and showed how Amparo can support faster fabrication, same-day readiness, adjustability, and compatibility with current clinical practice. Patient feedback was very positive, especially around comfort and being ready on the same day.

A huge thank you to the Orthomedics team for the welcome, the collaboration, and the openness throughout the visit.

Weโ€™re looking forward to seeing the impact Orthomedics can create with the Amparo System.

Stay tuned because we are going to share more about this initiative.

๐Ÿฆฟ Limb Loss & Limb Difference Awareness Month

April marks Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month ( ) โ€” an initiative led by the Amputee Coalition to raise awareness, share stories, and recognise the strength and resilience of people living with limb loss or limb difference.

Its purpose is clear:
๐Ÿ’™ Increase understanding and inclusion
๐Ÿ’™ Highlight challenges and opportunities in care
๐Ÿ’™ Advocate for better access to prosthetic and rehabilitation services worldwide

At Amparo, this mission is at the core of everything we do.

We believe that every person deserves access to high-quality, comfortable, and personalised prosthetic care โ€” delivered faster, more efficiently, and wherever itโ€™s needed.

Through our direct-fit system, weight-bearing methodologies, and global partnerships, weโ€™re working to make mobility more accessible and to support individuals in reclaiming their independence.

Because awareness is just the beginning โ€” action is what drives change.

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ฌ Amparo in Egypt โ€” Sharing the Future of Shape Capture with Orthomedics

We recently had the pleasure of visiting our partners at Orthomedics in Egypt โ€” a trip full of collaboration, learning, and meaningful conversations around improving prosthetic care.

A special highlight of the visit was seeing our very own Bibiana Almeida interviewed, sharing insights on Majicast and how weight-bearing shape capture is changing the way clinicians approach socket fitting.

Majicast plays a key role in the Amparo System โ€” helping clinicians capture the residual limb under hydrostatic weight-bearing conditions, creating a more controlled, repeatable, and clinically relevant starting point for fit.

Itโ€™s all about starting better โ€” because better shape capture leads to better fit, better comfort, and better outcomes for patients.

A huge thank you to the incredible team at Orthomedics for the warm welcome and strong collaboration.

Weโ€™re excited to see what you will achieve with the Amparo System ๐Ÿš€

๐Ÿ’ง Better Shape Capture Starts with Weight-Bearing

The quality of a prosthetic socket starts with how you capture the residual limb.

With Majicast, shape capture happens under true weight-bearing conditions, using hydrostatic pressure to create a more anatomical and consistent limb shape. ๐Ÿฆฟ

Why it matters:

โœ” Captures the limb under real load
โœ” Even pressure distribution for better soft tissue control
โœ” Reduces variability between fittings
โœ” Improves first-time fit accuracy
โœ” Supports a more stable, comfortable socket

Better shape capture means better outcomes for both clinicians and patients.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Want to see Majicast in action? Letโ€™s connect.
