We are a multinational and multidisciplinary team of individuals with public health, business, industrial design, and engineering backgrounds.

Using human-centered design, amparo is redefining prosthetic socket technology to revolutionize healthcare systems and impact the lives of amputees across the world. It all started back in 2014 as a University project. We are devoted to empowering amputees across the world by redefining the process required to customize prosthetic sockets. At amparo we believe that every amputee should have access to a functional prosthetic and live without limitations.

🌟 Exciting news! We’ve been shortlisted for the Santander X UK Awards 2025!

Out of nearly 1,200 applications, only 150 businesses were selected—and we’re proud to be among them.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be pitching Amparo Prosthetics to a panel of judges for the chance to secure a place in the National Final on 13 November.

This is a fantastic opportunity to highlight the work we’re doing to make prosthetic care more accessible—especially in low-resource and humanitarian settings—with our direct-fit socket systems and field-ready mobility solutions.

We’re excited to connect with other purpose-driven innovators and share how technology can help restore mobility, dignity, and independence around the world.

🌍 Training Without Borders: Amparo x Range of Motion Project Guatemala

Earlier this month, our team—Vanessa and Priscila—delivered a successful online training session for ROMP Guatemala.

🖥️ Despite the challenges of remote training, the session included:

- A workflow introduction with videos and a demo fitting using a limb simulator
- Patient fittings (including one refitting)
- Finishing techniques, tips, and live Q&A

💬 The results?

Two patients fitted, both very happy with their new sockets, and a team of clinicians excited about the possibilities of direct-fit technology.

This proves that even online, training can be effective and empowering—helping clinicians deliver better care, wherever they are.
