Sure, teaching Pilates looks glamorous… but nobody told me about the advanced workout series called:

🪑 “Move every piece of heavy studio equipment… three times… in three different studios.”
💦 “Carpet shampooing cardio (bonus points for speed before it dries).”
💪 “Reformer-dodging lunges while dragging vacuum cords.”

Curious about the Oov but not quite sure how to dive in? Join Rachel on July 18 @ 4:15-6:15 for a relaxed, hands-on workshop designed for movement professionals — especially Pilates instructors — who want to feel the Oov in their own bodies and start teaching it with more confidence.
This is not a formal training — it’s a movement lab! You’ll roll, wobble, explore, and share in real time. You’ll experience foundational sequences, get playful with movement, and exchange insights with fellow teachers. Rachel’s hope is that you leave feeling more at home on the Oov, and inspired to bring it into your teaching with ease and creativity.

Whether the Oov is brand new to you or you’re looking to reconnect with it, this is a chance to move, learn, and grow — together.

Our little Streamline turns 25 this month. We can’t believe it, and we are so proud. Way back in 2000, Eva and Steve Kauffman had a big vision, and they worked hard every day to create a space for people to feel, learn, move and heal. Bit by bit their Streamline family grew, and we now have the most wonderful community of clients and teachers who are committed to one another and to the Pilates method. Here’s a cheers to another 25. Clink clink. 🥂

Fridays at 3:00 in April, Rachel will be teaching the next installment of our Intro to Pilates Equipment course.

If you’ve never tried the Pilates apparatus before, this is a great introductory course for you. Over the 4 session course, you will get a taste of the Reformer, Pole System (or “Cadillac”), Low Chair, and any number of miscellaneous items such as barrels, Ped-o-pull, or foot corrector. The intention of this course is to prepare you for a regular equipment class so you can enter with confidence and a little familiarity with all we have in our Pilates playground.

As a seasoned Pilates instructor, Rachel’s teaching style is rooted in mindful movement. Her sessions focus on calming the nervous system, grounding the body, and cultivating presence, creating a centered and meditative experience. Rachel’s classes are often described as intentional, nurturing, and therapeutic, offering a space where students can connect with their bodies and minds in a meaningful way.

Join Hillary Brown, Master Pilates Instructor and Movement Education Specialist for a Roll and Release workshop this Friday from 6-7:30pm.

Our fascia, the connective tissue that holds our entire body together, is deeply intertwined with our nervous system. It plays a critical role in unlocking essential energy pathways that support our nervous system and optimize our body’s innate healing powers.

With Roll & Release you will Learn self myofascial release and self massage techniques using therapy balls and other tools to help improve body awareness, alleviate pain, increase mobility, optimize performance, and regulate your nervous system. “Rolling” with these tools will hydrate and restore stuck sticky tissue leaving you and your body grounded, renewed, relaxed, with an instant increase in flexibility and range of motion. In this workshop you will develop a customized tool-kit of self-massage techniques to keep your body tuned up and feeling great from head to toe.

New class starting tomorrow!

Tai Chi / Qigong Flow at our north studio, Tuesdays at noon with Scott White. We think it will be the perfect complement to Pilates.

Scott is an Integrative Health and Fitness Consultant, Tai Chi Qigong Teacher, Personal Fitness Trainer and Gym Owner. 

His focus is on teaching conscious, radiant Tai Chi Qigong movements, stretching, breathing techniques and meditation to help neutralize stress and toxic energy, regulate the nervous system as well as align mind, emotions, body and spirit.  Through Tai Chi you open up energy blockages through meridian/fascia stretching, improve fitness/performance/mobility/balance and strength through functional fitness coaching and balance energy flow through external Qi healing practices which help with anxiety, depression and stress.  Scott cares very much to help people create harmony in their lives, and harnesses his own internal energy practice to aid individuals in raising their vibration and realizing their full potential. 

Scott’s Tai Chi lineage is from Master Jesse Tsao and Grandmaster Victor Fu Shenglong. His Qigong lineage is from an ancient Daoist community in the Wudang Mountains in China called the Celestial Teachers (Tian Shi) taught by Eternal Spring (Yong Chun) and Jade Unity (Yu Yi).  
His direct teacher is Dr. Roger Jahnke.
