March is National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Month — a time to learn about a condition that affects the brain and spinal cord. 🧠

Some MS symptoms can be easy to overlook because they can come and go. If you notice symptoms lasting more than 24 hours, it’s a good idea to check in with your primary care provider. They can listen to your concerns, rule out other causes, and if needed, help you connect with a neurologist who specializes in MS.

Early care can make a meaningful difference. ♥️

Sometimes healing comes with a wagging tail. 🐾♥️

Gus is one of our certified therapy animals who brings comfort, calm, and plenty of smiles to our patients and caregivers at Riverton Hospital.

Each of our therapy animals is trained, accompanied by their partner, and even wear an ID badge, just like our caregivers. Gus and his handler, Ember, have been volunteering with us for three years, offering connection and therapeutic support during their regular visits. ❤️‍🩹

We’re excited to highlight them throughout the month as we kick off a new series featuring the amazing, certified therapy animals across our hospitals.

March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month 💙
Colore**al cancer is now the leading cause of cancer-related death for adults under 50 in the U.S. — but it’s also one of the most preventable and treatable cancers when caught early.
“Colonoscopies save lives,” says Emily Van Komen, NP. Most people diagnosed had no family history, and a third of eligible adults still aren’t getting screened.
✔️ Start screening at age 45 (earlier if you have a family history)
✔️ Don’t ignore symptoms like re**al bleeding, changes in bowel habits, or persistent abdominal pain
✔️ Healthy lifestyle choices—regular exercise, avoiding to***co, limiting alcohol, and a balanced diet—can help lower risk
Colon cancer is preventable, treatable, and beatable.
Talk to your doctor. Get screened. Save a life—maybe your own.

You’ve probably heard the word perimenopause, but do you know what it means?

Perimenopause is a natural transition for women that brings real changes. Support and understanding when it comes to navigating it makes a difference.

Small, healthy habits can make a big impact on easing symptoms and helping anyone going through this phase feel more balanced and cared for.

Whether you’re experiencing perimenopause yourself or supporting someone who is, connection matters.

Doing things you enjoy, spending time with the people who lift you up, and prioritizing well‑being can make this chapter feel lighter.

Support, compassion, and self‑care go a long way. ♥️

High blood pressure is the #1 driver of heart disease, and most people don’t even have it under control. Dr. Weaver breaks down why hypertension is so dangerous — and how everyday habits play a huge role.

Poor diet, sitting too much, and inconsistent sleep all push blood pressure higher over time. The good news is that small changes can make a real difference.
One of the smartest steps you can take is investing in an affordable home blood pressure cuff.

Knowing your numbers gives you power — and getting help early can truly save your life.
Your heart deserves attention today, not someday. ❤️

Does it feel like everyone around you is fighting off something lately? 🤧
It might be the second wave of the flu going around.

A quick flu shot can help protect you and the people you care about.
Walk in, roll up your sleeve, and you’re finished in about 10 minutes.

It’s a simple step that lowers your chances of getting the flu, and can make symptoms milder if you do catch it.

Ready to take care of yourself this season?
Contact your primary care clinic to get your flu shot today. ♥️

GLP 1 medications aren’t just about weight loss — they’re changing heart health. ❤️
Research shows GLP 1s can lower the risk of heart attack and stroke, even for some people without diabetes. They reduce harmful visceral fat, improve inflammation, support healthier blood pressure, and help protect your heart long before a major event happens.

Who may benefit:
• People with heart disease
• Those with type 2 diabetes or metabolic syndrome
• People with obesity and multiple heart risk factors
GLP 1s work best alongside the basics: nutrition, movement, sleep, and proven heart healthy care.

For the right patients, they’re becoming a powerful tool for early heart disease prevention. ❤️
