We are what we continually do.
-
The body and mind continually changes depending on our actions. When we train strength, we get stronger. When we eat healthier, we get healthier. The opposite is true as well. When we are sedentary, things slow down and we weaken.
-
It’s important to take things gradual. If we start training everyday, eating perfectly prepared meals, and being active all at once, it can be too much and we fail. Failure can create doubt. And doubt creates fear which holds us back from reaching our potential.
-
Starting small makes things manageable. Going for a walk. Making a healthy dinner. Going to a group class once a week. It gives you victories everyday, which inspires confidence instead of doubt. Our bodies repair and rebuild stronger, and more resilient. Those steps become easy and habitual, which gives way to more healthy actions.
-
Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is strength and health. Start slow, and don’t stop.

When it comes down to it, eating like an adult solves 90% of the problem with dieting. All too often I find clients who eat sweets and high calorie diets and want the results without the work. Learn how to cook. Take steps to eat more vegetables and lean proteins. Most people know how to eat better, they just refuse to do it.

Picked up the Raptor shears, and tried them out on .lipio. It looks a bit funny because I was trying not to cut his cardigan underneath.

Don’t let an emergency be the first time you use your equipment. Practice. Mess up and learn from it.

Today I had the amazing opportunity to take part in the Tactical Combat Casualty Care (T-CCC) course. The course was taught by an 18 Delta Ranger, and covered what to do and how to respond to a variety of traumas.

Day to day, I train people, and I train dogs. I have used my IFAK on pups more than humans, and thankfully my clients have only needed the occasional bandaid. I hope to never have to use the knowledge I gained today, but I am so thankful I have it in case I ever have to.
-
My clients, friends, family, pups and community matter to me. Tragedies happen, as we have seen, all to often. I train so that I can play my part, both physically and medically.
-
Thank you to and for today. The world is safer today because of you.

This week I have been using the pillow, and the results have been amazing. I track my sleep using and it is showing a 17% increase in sleep quality since I started using Spry.
-
I am a back sleeper, and pillows have been the hardest factor to nail down for me. These are definitely unique, and have taken some time to get used to. If you struggle with pillow support, Spry is worth a shot.

Also, they have graciously offered 25% off using CoachP25 at checkout. Check them out, and let me know what you think!

Now that I have finished up the NASM CPT, I am taking some time with the 5 day course from .
-
This course addresses sexual harassment and assault in the fitness industry, which has been swept under the rug for far too long. For quite some time, the majority of my clientele have been women. I have coached women’s lacrosse, taught women’s only kettlebell classes, as well as group classes that were consistently 90% women. Statistically I have worked with hundreds of sexual assault victims, and some have even confided that information with me. This isn’t a theory or a question. It’s a cold, hard fact that sexual assault exists in our industry.
-
Even with all that experience with female clients, there are areas that I can improve. There are perspectives I can gain from a woman’s point of view, that I can’t gain on my own. It’s having the humility to recognize where you’ve messed up, and how to do better moving forward.
-
Coaches like and the hundreds of coaches like her are leading the way in making the fitness industry a safe and supportive environment for women, and I am happy to be learning from them.

When you lose a bunch of weight, you have to buy new pants. Mike here brought in a bunch of his old pants that don’t fit anymore, and donated them to the Holiday Strong clothing drive.
-
On top of losing pounds of weight, Mike has gone from a 44 inch waist down to a 40. Consistency, proper dietary intake and exercise can have amazing results on the scale and the waistline.
-
If you have some clothes that don’t fit anymore, give them to charity! All donations will be taken to the Boys and Girls Club of America.
