a couple warmly embraced their journey into parenthood. She dreamt of a natural birth, aligning their bond with nature to welcome their soon-to-be newborn. Through meticulous research, consultation with a our team of doula and midwife , yoga, and nature walks, they prepared mind, body, and spirit for the big day.

When labor began, they turned their home into a serene birthing space. Together, they navigated through each contraction, their instincts guiding them. As the baby arrived, their combined strength, courage, and trust created a beautifully intimate moment.

Overjoyed, they embraced their newborn, flood of love filling the room. Their natural birthing journey, an embodiment of their values, came to a blissful end. A tale of intuitive parenthood thus began with the same dedication and love that guided them through the birthing process.

THE PLACENTA 😍

It is such a beautiful, fascinating organ.

Some moms choose to honor this miraculous life giving organ by creating placenta art prints, umbilical cord keepsakes, planting a tree...

Some of the benefits of consuming your placenta may include:

We know you got this mama! Here are some tips to navigate breastfeeding your newborn around the busy holiday season! 🥧

🐮 Find a quiet place: Your baby may be overstimulated if there's a lot of noise and people, so it may be a good idea to find a quiet place to nurse. Of course this is optional, don't feel like you have to seclude yourself from everyone to nurse, but it may be a nice break.

🐮 Baby wearing is a great way for baby to stay near you while giving you more mobility.

🐮 Be firm on your boundaries. Whether that's not introducing bottles yet, no excessive holding/kissing baby, it's best to establish those boundaries from the beginning.

🐮 Listen to baby's feeding and sleeping cues. Sticking to your baby's normal sleeping routine will help prevent having an overtired baby.

🐮 Stay on top of your nursing/pumping sessions. Whether you're exclusively nursing, exclusively pumping or a combination of both, it's very important not to go too long without nursing/pumping so that you can maintain your milk supply. It's common around the holidays for new moms to experience clogged ducts and mastitis/supply dips from missed feeds, don't let that happen to you!

🐮 If you're pumping, have a plan for milk storage and transportation. In a lunch cooler with ice BM is good for 24 hours. Be sure to bring all your pumping and milk storage supplies and accessories with you!

Inductions and the Holidays: Fact or Fiction?

🎄 You have probably heard numerous times that inductions rise around the holidays due to doctors wanting to have more control over the births that take place on, say, Thanksgiving or Christmas Day. But is there any truth to this?

🎄It's that time of year again!

🎁Did you know that 19% of inductions occur for no medical reason?

🍼 The statistics show that the least number of births occur on December 25th, followed by January 1st, December 24th, and July 4th.

Therefore, it's no surprise that the number of births increases dramatically in the days leading up to Christmas and other holidays.

🍂Of course, your doctor may not say, "Let's schedule your induction, I want to be home with my family on Christmas Eve..."

🙄 But they may say:
-“Your baby looks a little big.”
-“Your pelvis looks a little small.”
-“Your waters are a little low.”
-“We don’t want your placenta to fail.”
And the disturbing but ever-popular: “You’re baby could die.”

🚩It's important to note that these are legitimate medical reasons for induction, but inducing labor purely for the convenience of the doctor or the holiday season is not recommended.

🚫Inducing labor carries risks, such as a higher likelihood of needing a c-section, and can lead to longer hospital stays and recovery times.

It's essential to have open and honest communication with your providers about the reasons for induction and what options are available to you.

🚩Your doctor is not giving you true informed consent IF:

He/she only informed you of what could happen if you DON’T get an induction but not the risks of induction itself. You feel pressured, coerced, or threatened into an induction. He/she made the decision for you. You cannot give true INFORMED CONSENT if you are not INFORMED of all your options as well as the risks and benefits.

Remember, NO is a complete sentence! ❤️
