❤️🫶 Heart-Healthy and Gut-Friendly? Yes, both.

Today on Fox 13’s The Place, I shared how supporting your gut is one of the most powerful (and overlooked) ways to support your heart—especially during American Heart Month.

We talked about:
🥣 Chocolate oats with berries (fiber + antioxidants + omega-supportive ingredients)
🐟 Omega-3 rich meals
🥬 Fiber-packed veggies and lentils

Because heart health isn’t about restriction—it’s about nourishing the systems that regulate inflammation, cholesterol, and blood sugar.

When clients focus on real food first, they often see improvements in both digestion and their labs.

You’ve cleaned up your diet.
You’ve tried the supplements.
You’ve done “all the right things.”

So why do your gut symptoms keep coming back?

If bloating, fatigue, brain fog, or unpredictable digestion still show up—even though you eat well and take care of yourself—this isn’t a willpower problem. It’s usually a root-cause problem.

Most recurring gut issues aren’t about what you’re eating anymore. They’re about how your gut is functioning: digestion, microbial balance, stress load, and gut-brain communication.

That’s exactly what I dive into in my latest blog:
“I’ve Tried Everything—Why Your Gut Symptoms Keep Coming Back (and What to Do Next)”

If this sounds like you, know this: your body isn’t broken—it’s communicating. And there is a next step beyond restriction and guesswork.

Just wrapped up a cozy segment on Good Things Utah all about Winter Warm-Up Meals for a Happier Gut.

In winter, digestion naturally slows—and warm, cooked meals can make a big difference. We talked about simple one-pot dishes like soups, stews, and bone broth bowls that support digestion and immunity using seasonal ingredients like squash, root vegetables, and herbs.

Comfort food can be nourishing, grounding, and gentle on your gut—all at the same time.

Gut symptoms don’t happen in a vacuum.

So many people I work with notice their digestion gets worse when stress or trauma is present—and that’s not a coincidence. Trauma lives in the body, and the gut is often where it shows up first.

That’s why I partnered with Resolutions Counseling Center to talk about how trauma therapy and gut health support each other.

In our new blog, we cover:
• why stress disrupts digestion
• emotional eating and appetite loss—without shame
• the gut–brain connection explained simply
• how therapy + nutrition together can support healing

If your gut and stress feel connected, you’re not imagining it—and you don’t have to address them separately.

🌱 Back to Balance: A Gentle Reset That Actually Works

After the holidays, it’s tempting to jump straight into restriction—but that often makes digestion and energy worse, not better.

On KUTV’s Fresh Living, I shared why supporting your gut with real food is the fastest way to feel like yourself again. Fiber-rich meals, probiotics, and colorful produce help rebalance digestion and metabolism—without extreme diets or cleanses.

If bloating, fatigue, or food reactions stick around, it may be time to look deeper. Functional stool testing helps identify what your gut actually needs to heal.

If the holidays left you feeling bloated, tired, or “off,” you’re not alone.

On Back to Balance, I shared why a real food reset works better than dieting or cleansing. Supporting your gut with fiber, probiotics, and colorful whole foods helps digestion and metabolism recover naturally—without restriction.

When symptoms linger, it’s often a sign the gut needs deeper support. That’s where functional stool testing helps uncover what’s really going on.

🦃✨ Thanksgiving is almost here, which means… delicious food and a lot of heavy dishes that can leave your gut feeling less than grateful.

If you want to enjoy the feast without the bloat, here are a few of my favorite gut-friendly holiday swaps from my segment👇

✔️ Cauliflower Mash instead of heavy mashed potatoes
✔️ Gluten-free wild rice stuffing in place of traditional stuffing
✔️ Homemade cranberry–orange relish (sweetened with honey or maple)
✔️ Mini pumpkin custards or parfaits instead of pumpkin pie

And don’t forget the simple things that make a big difference:
🥗 Start with a small salad
🍲 Add a broth-based soup
🌿 Include a fermented food (even a spoonful!) to support digestion

Small, intentional choices that help you enjoy the holiday and feel good afterward.

🌿 NEW BLOG: Prebiotics — The Missing Piece in Your Gut Healing Plan 🌿

If you’ve tried but still struggle with bloating, fatigue, or “off” digestion… the problem might not be what you’re taking — but what you’re feeding.

Prebiotics are the food that fuel your good gut bacteria. When your microbiome gets the right kind of fiber, everything changes — energy, focus, mood, and yes, digestion.

In my latest blog, I break down:
✨ What prebiotics actually are (and why they’re not the same as fiber)
✨ Why probiotics alone often don’t work
✨ How stool testing + nutrition coaching create a personalized plan
✨ Simple ways to start feeding your gut today

Ready to stop guessing and start healing?
