Most people glue on their prosthesis in the morning and then remove it at night because it's not very comfortable to sleep on.

You can also use implants with magnets or a bar/clip system. A few years ago, I came up with an o-ring system. It has turned out to be the preferred method for implants!

I may be a bit too worried about eye safety because I hear the craziest stories about eye trauma. It's amazing what people go through!

I had an interesting comment from this retired nurse. She received his first prosthesis after her eye was removed to alleviate her pain (she's free from pain now). She said "you know how people have phantom sensations? Well it almost feels like I have double vision again. I know I don't but it just feels like I can see out of both eyes."

It's pretty amazing how healing a prosthesis can be psychologically. It's also fascinating that it happened so quickly.

When I make an eye prosthesis, I check different expressions. So much of making a prosthesis is in the comfort and altering the shape to change the eyelids. I try my best to get the eyelids to match while gazing, resting, and smiling. It's an important step that other ocularists skip for a few reasons.
