I think about this quote a lot. I often can be critical of or impatient with my body. We work ourselves hard and often don't take the time to take care of our bodies. Make it a priority to stretch, drink plenty of water, and take a break. Show your body you want to be their friend.

A little bit about my business name.
In the simplest terms:
Afakasi is the Samoan word for someone who is part Samoan.
Navigating my identity as someone who isn’t white, but never felt quite Samoan enough, has always been a tricky thing for me. As an adult, I’ve felt more desire to connect with every part of my heritage and to celebrate every aspect of my identity.
I’ve been given a perspective that really drives me to be inclusive and appreciative of all people. I’ve been taught humility and compassion, as well as to be proud of who I am by my parents.
As I strive to connect to my dad’s culture, my soul feels fed and I pass that along to my friends, family, and clients.
My business name is a reminder and a pledge to do right by other people and to be helpful in their journey as I walk my own.

The day I graduated from massage school!

5 years ago, I finally decided to go to massage school and become a licensed massage therapist. Ever since high school when I first met a massage therapist, I was intrigued by their talent to help people feel better.
After years of switching degrees and starting over in a new entry level job, I decided to pursue what had been in the back of my mind for a decade.
Enrolling in massage school was one of the best decisions I've made in my life. My confidence, empathy, and understanding of the human body and soul all grew through that course and have continued to grow through the 5 years of my career.
I'm so grateful for what I've learned and what I've been able to provide for others.
I firmly believe that massage can help anyone in some way and appreciate the opportunity to work with each of my clients. Whether you're recovering from injury, worn out from work or sports, or trying to relieve stress or depression, I'd love to apply my knowledge and care to help you.
