Our work at Odyssey House takes many forms, and this month we’re celebrating some of the creative vision behind it by shouting out Sky Hatter, our talented Graphic Designer!

Sky’s design journey began back in 2013 with an internship at the Oak Park Public Library in Chicago. Realizing she wanted to use her talents in meaningful, mission-driven ways, she eventually found her way to Utah and contributed her skills to organizations like Utah Arts Alliance and the Natural History Museum of Utah before joining Odyssey House in 2023.

At Odyssey, Sky is responsible for nearly all things graphics, from facility signs, swag and invitations, to pamphlets and the visuals you see across our social media channels.

“It’s just really wonderful to know that a lot of the people I see around my neighborhood can become my coworker someday because of programs like Odyssey House. With how hard it is – the state of the world right now – it helps that, despite all the bad stuff that’s happening, there’s so many people who care and show up at Odyssey and want better, and I want to be a part of that!”

“TRAUMA HISTORY OF TEENS IS STAGGERING”

It can be sexual, violence or emotional trauma, and when left untreated, teens often turn to substances or self harm to numb the pain. Today on Odyssey House Journals we talk to a very wise man, Daniel Peterson, who is program director of an adolescent residential treatment facility.
