It was an honor to meet His Excellency, Syrian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdulsalam Haykal, and connect with the incredible Syrian-American community at the community iftar.
One of the best ministers in the Syrian Government cabinet. His bold, forward-thinking vision for rebuilding ’s telecoms infrastructure and digital integration, in the face of unprecedented challenges and immense destruction, is inspiring. The scale of progress achieved in such a short time is truly extraordinary, and brings much needed hope. Technology is the foundation for communication, innovation, and progress, and necessary to build institutions that lead to stability, peace, and a prospering society.
I also have to point out how impressive the Syrian diaspora is.. such remarkable skills and phenomenal talent in tech and engineering. I’m proud and optimistic about American–Syrian cooperation and friendship and the future ahead. 🇸🇾🇺🇸
