Nearly 3 years ago, I had a consult with a potential new client. She chose a different path and had a surgical procedure called the lap sleeve.
One year ago, this client returned. She had lost 65 pounds after the procedure but couldn't lose another pound. She stepped back on the InBody 570 and typed in the same ID so that her previous weigh in was reflected in the tracking data. She was correct. She lost exactly 65 pounds. Unfortunately, 57 pounds was water and skeletal muscle mass. She had only lost 8 pounds of body fat!
Today, she has lost many, many more pounds of body fat and is at a very health body fat percentage and enjoying feeling more energy and looking great too!

A client has been rather stuck on her journey lately...she got comfortable and began to add a few splurges in and the weight loss slowed down.
In the past 2 weeks she had only altered one thing...making certain she was getting enough protein and eating protein every 2 hours in a six hour window.
Results? She lost over 5 pounds of body fat! Your body will burn your skeletal muscle mass before your body fat if you are not giving your body the nutrition it requires of you.

I prefer "intentional splurge." Cheating carries such negative connotations. We can enjoy an intentional splurge on occasion, but we have to be very intentional about it. Which food group, what size portion, how frequently? They all affect your weight loss journey.

Life can get in the way of your health and fitness journey. Is it okay to indulge on a cheat day or meal? Will that set your progress back?
