Over the years, more than a few of my clients have experienced PTSD and other forms of trauma, and some have released deep emotional pain right on the massage table. While I always uphold the sacred trust of client-therapist confidentiality, these moments have touched me deeply and opened my heart to something more,
How can I better support those carrying trauma in their bodies?
That question led me to take a step forward. I’m thrilled to share that I’ve officially enrolled in a continuing education program focused on Trauma-Sensitive Bodywork, an approach that aligns fully with my mission to provide safe, supportive, and deeply meaningful massage therapy.
This training is built on the understanding that trauma is not rare. Many individuals seeking touch-based care come with past experiences that shape how they receive and respond to bodywork.
Throughout the course, I’ll be learning how to:
🔸 Recognize the causes, symptoms, and physical expressions of trauma
🔸 Understand how trauma may show up in sessions
🔸 Use grounding and stress-relief techniques to support clients
🔸 Identify when massage may help, or overwhelm, trauma survivors
🔸 Provide safe, ethical care while staying within the scope of massage therapy
🔸 Explore breathwork and gentle physical practices to integrate into sessions
This journey is both personal and professional. My goal is to cultivate a space where healing happens gently, respectfully, and without pressure, where every client feels heard, held, and honored.
Thank you for trusting me to grow in this work. I look forward to bringing this deeper awareness into our sessions together, quietly, intentionally, and with care.
