☮️ How do you choose compassion in a world that so often chooses and cultivates anger? Hold one, read more. ⬇️
“Hatred never ends by hatred, but ONLY by love.” (Thanks 😉 Buddha!)
🪷 Violence my dear Kindred, begets more violence. 🤕 Killing is rooted in suffering and ignorance.
In the wake of Charlie Kirk’s death and the overwhelming amount of violent acts occuring in our Country and our shared world, I feel we are reminded of what political (or any type of violence) calls us NOT to do and what we are called TO DO instead:
❌ Do NOT let grief harden into vengeance.
❌ Do NOT feed cycles of hatred-that ONLY deepens suffering. 🕳️
✅ DO grieve for the ignorance of the victim and also for the ignorance of the one who killed. EACH were caught in suffering. That same suffering resulted in ignorance😞
✅ DO extend compassion-to families, communities, neighbors, and ESPECIALLY to those driven by fear and suffering.
✅ DO act with NON-violence in our words, choices, and relationships. Sowing seeds of PEACE where anger desires to grow.
✅ DO cultivate and foster
WHY?!? I was hopeful you'd ask.
Because:
⭕️ How we RESPOND shapes what happens next AND for whom. If we answer hatred with more hatred, we ensure ENDLESS division.
❤️🔥It is not the circumstance that makes us miserable. It is rather the way we react and respond to the circumstance that in fact makes us miserable❣️
⏳Impermanence, man. Even great leaders and enemies are impermanent. Attaching to their presence or absence creates more suffering. Everyone faces death in due time and not by anothers 🤚🏼 , but in due time.
✌🏼 Choosing the right action to NOT respond with vengeance, but with ACTIONS that reduce harm, cultivate understanding, and PROTECT life.
💗 Seek PEACEFUL resolution. Work toward social and political change in ways that REDUCE violence, rather than escalate it.
If we CHOOSE compassion and non-harm, we begin the work of healing for ourselves, our families, and our WORLD. 🌎
🩹 At Kindred Counseling Services, Britt wholeheartedly believes TRUE healing begins when we transform suffering into understanding, understanding into awareness, and awareness into LOVE in compassionate action. One conversation, meal, and shared experience at a time. 🕊️
Unconditional Love would not condone killing or violence of ANY kind. Instead, agape calls us to meet tragedy with non-harm, compassion, reflection on impermanence, and commitment to peaceful action. Thus, breaking the cycle of hate, rather than feeding it. 🪫
Every act of violence affects an entire community. Healing requires collective commitment to peace.
