The FD-258 is the standard Applicant Fingerprint Form used to submit fingerprints to the FBI for uses such as criminal history checks. This card can be required for pre-employment background checks, immigration, concealed carry permits, and professional licensures, in addition to serving as a common method for obtaining a national criminal background check in compliance with state and federal regulations.
