Great job everyone!
After all the hip and shoulder work this week, we went to full Urdhva Dhanurasana. Then flew in Bakasana, Tolasana, and Mayurasana. Adho Mukha Svanasana, Adho Mukha Vrksasana(for some students) with hands turned backwards has helped the shoulders and wrists.
Sirsasana hand variations next week.

Virabhadradana I Sealed the outer edges of the hands, extended the pinky side of the hands. Pressed palms. Helped the arms to lift and straighten.

“In each asana, if the contact between the body and the floor-the foundation-is good, the asana will be performed well. Always watch your base: Be attentive to the portion nearest the ground. Correct first from the root. The standing poses are meant to begin providing this foundation for life. They strengthen the ankles and the knees. When a person is mentally disturbed or dejected, you'll notice he can't stand firmly on his feet. These postures teach one how to stand straight so that the brain can float in its position. Feet are like the root of a tree.
If one can't stand properly on one's feet, one develops a negative attitude toward life, and one's yoga too becomes unsteady. These postures help one to maintain stability in times of difficulty and even when catastrophes occur. When stability becomes a habit, maturity and clarity follow. Stability requires balance.”

A student reflects
With the use of props I was able to pay closer attention to my breath. It became steadier and more consistent. Perhaps the energy was being distributed more evenly throughout my body.
In terms of my inner voice, at first there was a lot of chatter because of the intense action and observation. In terms of the kosas, there was more thought and emotion than integration across the sheaths. But over time, through increased familiarity with the pose, by adjusting timing, and putting the pose into a sequence, the chatter lessened and I became a bit surer and more confident. The inner voice was still there but there was less doubt.
The overall effect was an increased feeling of balance, strength and solidity as opposed to uncertainty and a wavering body, breath and mind.
