Little Wishes

Little Wishes Little Wishes grants the immediate and ongoing wishes of chronically and critically ill, hospitalized children.

Little Wishes™ makes a big difference for seriously ill, hospitalized children facing difficult journeys. A non-profit founded by two pediatric oncology/PICU nurses in 2003, Little Wishes helps prevent patients from losing their identity to illness by tapping into their passions. Young patients may identify what makes them happy and wish for something that will fill their hearts and brighten their

darkest days. What makes Little Wishes unique is that a patient may wish for something every two weeks giving them a positive event to look forward to. Some children spend hours searching online for their wish, providing a sense of control and healing distraction from pain. Receiving wishes also helps little patients replace anxiety and fear with hope and joy. All wishes take place in the hospital and are delivered with fanfare by hospital staff. Milestones spent in the hospital are also celebrated including birthdays, graduations, and completion of treatment, creating a sense of community. In addition, Little Wishes provides comfort in a child's final days surrounding them with their most cherished belongings and providing memory making kits and keepsake lockets for the family to hold on to forever. Little Wishes has granted over 25,000 wishes to date. Little Wishes is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization Federal Tax ID 52-2386886

Childhood cancer does not pause for birthdays, but neither do we. For Maddie, that meant turning 6 inside the hospital because treatment could not be put on hold. So we made sure every Barbie birthday wish came true. ✨ Nothing beats being home on your special day, but we made sure joy still found its way.💚

During leukemia treatment, Malia held onto the thing she loved most… music.🎵
So for her birthday, we celebrated superstar style with her very own song release party, autograph signing, and the doll she had been dreaming of. After so many hard days fighting cancer, this was a day where joy took center stage. 🌟 Thanks and Little Wishes orlandohealth

Every time Jaxon got close to finishing a treatment cycle, his family was met with heartbreaking news that the cancer had spread again. After years of surgeries, long hospital stays, and hard setbacks, Jaxon finally rang the bell as he enters maintenance therapy. His mom wanted this milestone to feel extra special, so we threw a bell ringing party and included some of his favorite Little Wishes like Legos, Pokémon, and more. Throughout treatment, Little Wishes helped bring him moments of choice, motivation, and joy during some of his hardest days in the hospital. 💚

Tommy is a teen living with sickle cell disease and spends a lot of time in the hospital for treatment. When it came time to choose his wish, he wanted to surprise his mom with something special because “She’s always taking care of everyone else.” 💚

Zianna spent much of high school fighting leukemia… and today, she celebrated graduating an entire semester early. 🎓💚 Her hospital halls turned into a graduation walk filled with cheers, decorations, and send-off wishes to celebrate everything she has overcome. One of the most emotional moments came when her oncologist reminded her that, after all she’s been through, she can do absolutely anything she wants in life. Zianna wanted to share her story so that another student facing cancer might see this and realize their dreams are still possible too.💚

While getting his head shaved to help prepare for hair loss from chemo, this 2-year-old boy’s family shared that after every haircut at home, they always get an orange balloon and donut holes.
Because Little Wishes is run directly by the medical teams inside the hospital, Child Life Specialist Adam was able to make it happen right away. A sunshine balloon, donut holes, and one little boy who got to still feel like a kid during a really hard moment.
That’s what Little Wishes is all about. No waiting. Just showing up when families need it most… bringing comfort, familiarity, and little pieces of home into hospital rooms. 🧡💚

“When Little Wishes came into the room, they knew exactly what we needed and made us feel not alone.” 💚
Jakob was six. His family called him “Joyful Jake.”
He loved hospital blankets… stacking them high, always asking for one more. It helped him feel safe in a place that can feel anything but.
When he was asked, “What is your wish?”
He chose a weighted blanket, Chick-fil-A, video games… simple things that brought him comfort.
That’s what Little Wishes is about.
Being there through the hardest of hospital days.
Offering choice when so much is out of a child’s control.
And when Jakob’s time became short, Little Wishes was there in the end.
A quiet wish… his heartbeat, his handprints, something his family can hold onto forever.
