What blocks healing?

To explore this question, one of the frameworks I use with patients is Dr. Klinghardt’s Seven Factors of Wellness and Chronic Illness model.

Below is a list of the 7 factors with some examples of things that would be included in that category:

1. Toxins: biotoxins from mold, parasites, bacteria, or external toxins such as heavy metals, chemicals, microplastics

2. Biochemical needs / deficiencies: minerals, vitamins, hormones, enzymes, co-factors, water

3. Structural imbalances: bite misalignment, spinal subluxations, old injuries, fascial adhesions

4. Biophysical stress: electromagnetic radiation, light pollution, geopathic stress

5. Food, environmental, and emotional “allergies” or intolerances

6. Energetic perturbances: scars, metal implants, mixed metals in dental work, tattoos, piercings, root canals, cavitations

7. Psycho-spiritual issues: stored survival stress, transgenerational trauma

The Environmental Working Group's (EWG’s) 2023 Clean 15 and Dirty Dozen list. This list is intended to provide an overview of the fruits and vegetables that contain most (Dirty Dozen) and least (Clean 15) pesticides. These lists can be helpful if needing to decide between buying organic vs non-organic produce. Save the post for future reference!

Have you tested negative for mold allergies and were told that there is no way you could be having health issues due to mold exposure? Unfortunately, you have been misinformed. Mold allergies and mold illness are not the same condition.

Mold illness is the buildup of mold toxins (aka mycotoxins) in the body; it is not an allergic reaction. Mold illness can happen due to ongoing exposure to mold. The mycotoxins weaken various systems in the body including the immune and nervous systems. Mycotoxins can also cause damage to the body's detox pathways making it more difficult for the body to detox them.

Mold allergy is a response of the immune system to mold spores with symptoms similar to hay fever or seasonal allergies.

It is possible to have just a mold allergy. It is possible to just have mold illness. And it is possible to have both a mold allergy and mold toxicity.

A diagnosis is not your identity.

When a medical diagnosis is given it means the signs and symptoms you have fit in a box of a previously labelled condition. Typically this information is then used to bill insurance. If you are working with an integrative or holistic
practitioner a diagnosis may help them to conceptualize the case and look for treatment approaches to address the root cause of the condition but the diagnosis does not define who you are as a person.

Clinging to a diagnosis and using words such as "I'm a Lymie", "I'm a spoonie", “I'm PTSD", I'm OCD", I'm bipolar", and so on does not support healing. The words we use matter.

You are not your diagnosis, condition, or label.

Be intentional with the words you use to describe yourself.

Parasites are organisms that live and depend on a host for survival. Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to travel to a tropical destination to pick up parasites. Many people in the United States have parasitic infections (and many don't know it!).

Some common ways we can pick up parasites include contact with infected people and animals, swimming in contaminated lakes, rivers, and streams, drinking contaminated water, eating contaminated food ... just to name a few!

Digestive symptoms are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to parasites. These organisms can affect many different systems in the body and lead to a host of symptoms beyond the gut.

If you are struggling with chronic health problems addressing parasites could be part of the puzzle for you to get well.

If you are suspecting cavitations to be a contributing factor to your chronic symptoms make sure your cone beam scan is interpreted by a qualified biological dentist. Otherwise cavitations can be missed! Get a second opinion if there is high level of suspicion of cavitations.

When I consult with patients I use ART (Autonomic Response Testing) as a screening tool before an official diagnosis is made by a dentist.

There is a lot that gets released into the system with cavitation surgeries. Make sure you are working with someone who can properly guide and support you through process on the physical and psychoemotional levels. Here again I use ART to help figure out what the body needs in the moment including before, during, and after cavitation surgery.

Depending on the state of a person's overall health, their detox pathways and immune system may be able to offset the stress and toxic burden coming from cavitations. In cases of people with chronic illness, cavitations may be a roadblock to healing and cavitation surgery necessary. Some people report immediate improvement in symptoms following cavitation surgery. What I see more often is that the cavitation surgery removes a big roadblock that was preventing the patient from getting better and not necessarily immediate improvement in symptoms. It takes a load off the drainage and detox pathways and the immune system to finally be able to focus on other things than constantly needing to keep the toxicity from the cavitation sites at bay.

Interference fields in the mouth are very common. Interference fields are often SILENT LOCALLY but can create or contribute to problems and symptoms in other areas of the body.

Cavitations, root canals, titanium implants, amalgam fillings are some examples of interference fields in the mouth.
