📢 GLP-1 Reality Check: More Is NOT Always Better
Everyone thinks higher doses of GLP-1 = faster weight loss.
That’s not always true.
When doses are pushed too high too fast, patients often:
• Lose their appetite completely
• Eat far too little
• Stop prioritizing protein
• Lose muscle instead of fat
• Feel fatigued and weak
And here’s the problem…
⚠️ If you don’t eat enough, your metabolism slows down.
Your body is smart.
When it senses starvation, it goes into conservation mode:
• Burns fewer calories
• Holds onto stored energy
• Breaks down muscle tissue
• Reduces metabolic rate
Less muscle = slower metabolism.
Slower metabolism = harder long-term weight loss.
Sometimes aggressive dosing can actually:
❌ Stall progress
❌ Cause weight regain later
❌ Increase fatigue and hair loss
❌ Worsen metabolic adaptation
GLP-1 medications like:
• Semaglutide
• Tirzepatide
Are powerful tools — but they must be dosed strategically.
At Evolve TX Medical Group, we focus on:
✔️ Slow titration
✔️ Adequate protein intake
✔️ Muscle preservation
✔️ Metabolic support
✔️ Sustainable fat loss — not starvation
Weight loss should protect your metabolism, not damage it.
If you feel like you “can’t eat at all” on your dose… that’s not a badge of honor. That’s a red flag 🚩
Your body doesn’t need to be starved to transform.
It needs to be supported.
