I was honored and grateful that I could do a small part in helping the 1st the Responders & volunteers who have been working tirelessly from dawn to dusk searching for the missing. Stories of sorrow and hope. Comrogdaitity and compassion among strangers. Grateful that Jessi LMT Boerne started this volunteer opportunity for License Massage Therapists to provide massage therapy & stretching to those in need. And ALL were in need. The volunteers and 1st responders work so hard in unimaginable conditions and terrain walking miles, swinging axā€™s , using chainsaws, and digging holes for over 12 hours at a time. I heard the stories, saw the tears, and met the most amazing heroā€™s . My faith in humanity restored. It was my honor to help Jessi provide a few minutes of pain relief to stiff, sore and tired muscles and exhausted bodies. The appreciation and sometimes tears filled my heart. Jessi wants to start a non profit Massage Therapy program to continue to assist those 1st responders and volunteers in times of disaster. I commend her and will continue to support and work with Jessi for the cause sheā€™s passionate about. Thank you to her , my dear friends and family who helped me gather supplies and support.

Hello Everyone! My name is Dawn Patterson of Massage & Bodywork by Dawn (Zena) .. I am a licensed massage therapist specializing in Ashiatsu, and Thai Massage (Assisted Stretching) here in San Antonio, Texas.
My passion for anatomy and therapeutic massage guided me to Thai Massage, which led me to Barefoot Massage. As a lifelong student, with a fierce determination I was able to receive certifications in all things FasciAshi. On a quest to continue my knowledge I traveled to Thailand to attend Thai Massage School and received my Certification. I also recently received a Certification as a Performance Stretch Practitioner.
My drive comes from my determination to help others, and a fascination with anatomy. Whether its assisted stretching, and/or deep tissue massage. I combine knowledge, compassion, and intuition with an intention of creating a pathway to your wellness.
When Iā€™m not working, Iā€™m attending college part time (working on my Bachelorā€™s degree) and taking more certification classes to broaden my knowledge of all things Ashiatsu, anatomy and massage therapy.
I have two grown children who are my best friends, and 8 grandchildren whom I enjoy every minute I can with them.
Aside from my career and quality time with my family, I am traveling the globe near and far..

5Years !!
Today is the 5 year anniversary of having Zena/Dawn at Heeling Sole!
She started out as an employee that I trained backwards as an experiment ...She took all my classes and those of every guest instructor that I hosted and she retained that info like a champ... She trained all the Sasquatch staff in her Traditional Thai Massage sequence & style so they could do better... She never stops learning something new for herself... She was a beacon of support during lockdown... She morphed from employee to mentee to renter/roommate + friend... I teach her everything I can and then she does it with the opposite foot but somehow pulls it off... She simultaneously kicks my ass and blisses me out during sessions... She knows the clients better than I do... She took a drawing that I scribbled with a sharpie on her good foot and turned it into a permanent tattoo.... She saves all my plants from dying... She's helping me be WAY less stressed (and look way less old than I did in this picture! The stress was real back then!)

She's been a great, patient human with the least drama... and although I never want employees again, Dawn has stepped up her feet and career into a self-sufficient, responsible, successful version of what I hoped for all of the Sasquatches. She's not employed by Heeling Sole anymore but she's still in the building, and I'm so glad that I can trust her & her work at

HERE'S TO THE NEXT 5 YEARS!!

If you want Barefoot Massage and you can't see me, go see her. And try the Thai, it's her thang!
