Did you know birds can get yeast infections too? The infection appears as fluffy white to yellow plaques in the back of the mouth and can even occlude the ability to breathe! This Amazon no longer has a visible choanal opening so she is having trouble breathing. We have referred her to our colleagues at South Texas Avian and Exotics Hospital for surgical debridement so she can begin to breathe better while undergoing treatment. Hopefully, she will make a full recovery!

My cat never goes outside, so they don't need flea prevention. We hear this one a lot. The truth is, fleas are excellent hitchhikers, and they can make their way indoors on clothing, shoes, other pets or through an open door without any help at all. Indoor kitties benefit from prevention just as much as outdoor ones. Ask us about the right option at your next visit. 🐾
