This Black History Month, we honor Yaa Asantewaa, the fearless Queen Mother of the Ashanti Empire, who in 1900 led an armed rebellion against British colonial rule in Ghana. She stood against oppression when others hesitated, proving that women have always been at the forefront of the fight for justice and freedom.
From Yaa Asantewaa to Harriet Tubman, Angela Davis, and the countless women leading movements today—Black women have never stopped fighting for their rights, their people, and their futures.
Their courage lives in us. Their fight continues through us. Let’s keep pushing for equity, justice, and liberation!
