Exciting Practice Update!
I'm thrilled to announce that I've recently completed Weekend 1 of the EMDR Institute Basic Training and am currently working toward full certification through supervised consultation!
🧠For those unfamiliar with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), it's a powerful, evidence-based approach that helps the brain process disturbing memories that may be stored in a way that continues to cause distress. Through guided bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps reprocess these experiences to reduce their emotional impact.
EMDR therapy complements my relational cultural approach perfectly by recognizing how disconnections—including traumatic experiences—impact our mental wellbeing. I'm excited to integrate this within my culturally sensitive framework that acknowledges both personal and collective trauma, including historical and intergenerational experiences.
I've updated my website at http://210.care to include information about this new approach. EMDR therapy is particularly effective for: depression and anxiety, past traumatic experiences and PTSD, disturbing memories, phobias and panic attacks, grief and loss, chronic pain, and performance anxiety
I'm accepting new patients ages 16+ who are experiencing depression, anxiety, inattention, and/or poor concentration. My practice is especially well-suited for individuals whose symptoms are connected to difficult past experiences or trauma.
