Confianza Conversations continued today at St. Timothy Community Center with a powerful session led by Dr. Ralph DeFronzo.

Dr. DeFronzo led the U.S. development of a widely used medication for the treatment of diabetes (Metformin). As an expert on diabetes, Dr. DeFronzo shared valuable insights on the disease, its risks, and steps our community can take to protect their health.

We are so grateful for his time, his heart, and his dedication to San Antonio communities.

Last week, we had the honor of hosting our Health Club Foundational Training — and what an incredible experience it was!
We welcomed 10 participants from a diverse range of organizations, including YWCA San Antonio , WestCare Texas, and Southside Collaborative , all coming together with one shared goal: to learn, grow, and strengthen their communities.
This group came ready — engaged, enthusiastic, and hungry to build the knowledge and tools that will make a real difference. 🙌
We are so grateful for each and every participant who showed up and showed out. Together, we're laying the foundation for healthier, stronger communities. We can't wait to see the impact they will make!
We are proud to support these organizations and the incredible work they do. 👏

Our WellnessCultura.org is now updated!
WellnessCultura.org is a free, easy-to-use website that helps people in the San Antonio/Bexar County area find healthcare and wellness resources
What you will find:
🏥 Local Clinics — A list of 35+ nearby clinics where you can get medical care at low or affordable costs. It covers everything from regular check-ups and vaccines to dental, vision, mental health, and LGBTQ+ care.
🧠 Mental Health Resources —Whether it's stress, anxiety, depression, or something more serious, our site points you to places where you can get support. Resources include clinics and nonprofits, hospitals and crisis support, community support groups, schools, churches, exercise and arts programs, services for parents and youth, and tools for schools and mental health providers.
🌍 Newcomer Resources — A section specifically for people who are new to the area. It helps them understand how to access healthcare, what their rights are, and what services are available to them, regardless of immigration status.
📚 Learning Resources — Simple guides and flyers to help people understand their health better. Things like how to read a prescription label, what questions to ask your doctor, how to tell if your symptoms are the flu or COVID, and more.
In short, it's a one-stop guide that takes the confusion out of finding healthcare — written in plain language, available in English and Spanish, and designed for everyday people who just need to know where to go and what to do.
