Breathing is something we do without even thinking about. But did you know that HOW you breathe can affect your entire body?

Functional breathing is exactly what it sounds like - breathing intentionally, for wellness, instead of breathing to just get the job done. When you know how to breathe in a more functional and intentional way, you are able to calm down your nervous system and may experience a ton of different benefits. People report lowered stress levels, increased physical performance, better sleep, and even improved digestion!

Our goal with your chiropractic adjustment is to remove spinal dysfunction that leads to nervous system interference. When we remove this dysfunction, it allows your nervous system, which includes the Vagus Nerve, to function as it should.

The vagus nerve is the primary, most vital nerve in the parasympathetic nervous system, also known as your rest-and-digest system. Everyone has heard about the fight-or-flight aspect of your nervous system but this other half of the equation is just as important to your health. Think of it this way - when your body is in a constant state of stress, we know the symptoms: high blood pressure, irritability, brain fog, anxiety, insomnia, headaches, IBS-like symptoms, the list goes on and on. In order for your body to stabilize and return to a normal state, your rest-and-digest system has to be able to take over and relieve the fight-or-flight system.
With regular chiropractic adjustments, you may experience a decrease in the symptoms of an overactive sympathetic nervous system because we are allowing your body to enforce your parasympathetic nervous system.

Our Angel Tree is ready for donations!

Each year we adopt an angel from the Salvation Army (this year we’ve got TWO!) for patients to bring donations in for. Both girls need clothes and shoes, size 8 in all clothing and sizes 12 and 13 for shoes. Stocking stuffers and toiletries are also needed.

Bring in any donation before December 5th and get a complimentary adjustment!

Complimentary adjustments are only available for current patients and cannot be redeemed on the first visit with us.

Stress shows up in more ways than we realize: physically, chemically, and emotionally. And when it builds up, your body starts to lose its ability to adapt and recover the way it’s designed to.

At Cross Timbers Chiropractic, we focus on helping your nervous system adapt better to life’s daily stressors. Because while we can’t remove every stress from your environment, we can help your body respond to it more effectively. When people think of chiropractic, they typically think of back doctors but chiropractic is SO much more than a quick snap, crackle, pop.

Our focus is nervous system function. Every system and organ in the body is connected to and controlled by the nervous system.
