Fellow hikers, I need help!! I can't do more than 3.5 miles with these shoes before my feet just hurt too much! And you know I have to take care of my tootsies! π£π
They're Saucony, which I was told was an amazing brand for hiking shoes, but they just don't seem to be right for me. π£
Share your favorite hiking shoes with me, please π₯Ί Let me know what has worked for you. Most comfortable shoe? Longest hike?! Worst shoe?! I need to know that as well, what shoe should I stay away from?? My feet will forever be grateful ππ½

Super cool artwork from Elizabeth Lamanna at @lamanna_designs and guess whatβοΈ
All of Elizabeth's art that is on my walls is available for purchase!
Feel free to check it out when you stop by for your massage. Follow Elizabeth LaManna Designs and leave her some kind words!
I had to listen to my body and take a rest day to recover from this head cold. I feel much more like myself, finally. I am not a good patient. I don't wanna sit still or be sick or rest. I wanna be on the go when I'm supposed to be on the go!! But the body knows what it needs and it tells us; we just have to listen!
Anyhow... Here's Day THREE: I FINISHED PAINTING πππ OMG I thought I'd be painting till the end of time!! π€£
I finished painting the ceiling and the top of the walls and I will NOT be hearing any critiques about my squiggly, uneven lines.... It's called artistic freedom! ππ
I put up the curtains and the blinds and snapped a pic because it looked so beautiful π Then I single handedly brought my contraption INTO the room and set it up. πͺπΎπͺπΎ Then I brought ALL THE THINGS into the room and created that beautiful disaster. So close to being done!!!! π
Bring me your art!! Send me links of your favorite local artists. Help me cover these walls in art!
Day TWO: We got the first full coat of paint on the ceiling, and the 2nd coat on the wall.
I did NOT get footage of the two big, πͺπΎ strong, heavily tattooed π€ͺ individuals who helped me move the ashi bars (what I lovingly call "the contraption") out of the old room and bring them over here to 118 Broadway. I was also able to get EVERYTHING moved out of my old suite and stored in the gigantic closet of my new suite!!! π±
Oh! π I didn't know it yet, but I was at the beginning stages of a massive head cold that seemed to come out of nowhere! ππ€§π·
Day ONE: I taped up the walls, put the tarp on the walls and floors wherever I DID NOT want paint to go, and went to work with the paint sprayer.
Joke was on me!!!!! The paint sprayer covered such a SMALL area that it was much harder to work with, and took longer than if I had painted by hand.
But because of all the cracks and crevices on that vent system, I needed to use the paint sprayer to get it covered completely. It took a whole day π
Also, you wouldn't even know I'm afraid of heights with how I've spent the past 3 days going up and down a 10 foot ladder! πͺπΎ
Side by side view of the Ai Massage and me!
What do you think of this cool new tech?!? Would you try it?? Or not for you??
Literally *stepping up* my game π
Search CES AI Massage -- looks like a tiny foot with a fat little ankle! π£
What do you think?!? Is AI the future of Massage??
Alright! After not having worked out for NINE days I'm back at it!!
I talk about my lower back pain ALL the time!! My reason for getting into massage work! (Last Tuesday I reinjured my back so I had to take a gym break for about 5 days, then I went on vacation and there was no gym within the city we were at! π€― So that was another 4 days. But we did a lot of walking!)
To get back into the swing of things, carefully, I decided to ease back in with a warmup in the sauna and 10 min on the stairmaster. Then we did the entire row of full body circuit machines followed up with some foam rolling, and back to the sauna for another 20 minutes. πͺπΎ
I also have my massage scheduled for next week π£ and restarted my yoga practice (which I also took a short break from for no reason other than I was bummed about being in so much pain!) So let the selfcare begin!
Remember that sometimes it's okay to slow down, take a break, give your body time to recover!! It was challenging to not go to the gym those first 3-4 days, but I had to listen to my body! π
Have you had to take an extended break from your favorite activity for any reason?! How did you get through it?! Let me know in the comments! ππΎ
Oh my goshβΌοΈ Have you tried cryotherapy yet?!?
This was my very first time trying this freezing therapy at @icebox_lacanteratx and let me tell you...it was cold π₯Ά
(From WebMD: Whole-body cryotherapy is a kind of cryogenic therapy where you expose your body to very cold temperatures for a short time. The theory is that the cold helps with inflammation and reduces your pain or other symptoms.)
I hurt myself at the gym which caused an old injury pain to flare up so I decided to give this a try.
You go in for 3 minutes and when you come out NOTHING HURTS! It was AMAZING to NOT feel pain for the first time in xx YEARS. My mind was blown!! π€―
(Unfortunately for me, my pain came back twofold after about 2-3 hours and I felt ill, but I believe that with continued treatment the effects will build up on itself!) But to feel NO PAIN for a few hours of the day, maybe before an event or party or something important it is definitely worth the cold! βοΈ
I'd give it a 4 out of 5 and would definitely do again before a big event, and every now and then just for the effect.
Have you tried cryotherapy?

My favorite day of the week, #LegDay βΌοΈ
As you may already know, Ashiatsu massage is a form of massage therapy that involves the therapist using their feet π£ to apply deep pressure and broad strokes to the client's body. This type of massage can be beneficial for athletes because it can help to alleviate muscle tension, improve flexibility, and increase circulation. πͺπ½
Some benefits of ashiatsu massage for athletes and those of us who don't consider ourselves athletes but do like to work out hard include:
Deep tissue pressure: Ashiatsu massage is ideal for those who need deep pressure to release tension in their muscles. π¦΅πΎ Because I'm using my feet to apply pressure, I can use my body weight to apply more force than with traditional massage techniques therefore providing continuous and consistent pressure. ππ½ββοΈ
Improved flexibility: Athletes and us regular folks can benefit from increased flexibility, which can help to prevent injuries and improve athletic performance. Ashiatsu massage can help to lengthen muscles and improve joint mobility. π¦΅πΎ
π Increased circulation: Ashiatsu massage can improve circulation by increasing the flow of blood and oxygen to muscles, which can help to promote healing and reduce soreness after a workout. π
Reduced stress and anxiety: If you often experience high levels of stress and anxiety, it can impact your performance. Ashiatsu massage can help to promote relaxation and reduce stress, which can help you feel more focused and energized. ππ½ββοΈ
Overall, ashiatsu massage can be a great choice for athletes who need deep tissue work and want to improve their performance and recovery time. It's important to consult with a licensed massage therapist to ensure that ashiatsu barefoot massage is appropriate for your specific needs and goalsβΌοΈ
