You know what’s not hygge?

– Endless lists
– Overcrowded shopping trips
– Forced cheer at every turn
– Deadlines disguised as “holiday fun”
– That one string of lights that still won’t work

Things that are hygge:

Every emotion is a messenger.

In yoga, we learn that emotions live in the body: fear in the root, sadness in the heart, anger in the belly.
When we move and breathe with awareness, we give them space to speak and to be heard.

The dark isn’t something to fix. It’s something to listen to.

This December, come move, breathe, and remember your wholeness.

As the days grow shorter, our energy shifts.
Nature turns inward, resting, releasing, preparing.
But while the world urges us to stay bright and busy, our bodies whisper: slow down.

This is the season of wintering. It’s a time of softening into stillness, of meeting the parts of ourselves we often rush past.

What if, instead of resisting the dark, we learned to befriend it?

🕯️ Join me for “Befriending the Dark,” a candlelit evening of rest, reflection, and renewal.

Together we’ll explore:
✨ Gentle restorative yoga by candlelight
🪞 Parts work & inner reflection with Alyssa Booth, LPC
🖤 Mini mala making with light + dark beads as a tangible reminder of balance

The deeper I get into my yoga practice, the more I realize that the most “advanced” yoga doesn’t look like Crow Pose and handstands. It looks like responding instead of reacting. It looks like breathing through discomfort. It looks like noticing when your body is disregulated and honoring it through movement.

I cannot say this enough: yoga is not a gym workout. It’s a way to access and befriend the deepest parts of ourselves, starting with movement as the gateway.

If you’re interested in experiencing a yoga practice that helps you reconnect with yourself, join me in a special community event on 12/12 ❤️

and are putting our magic together to guide you in restorative movement, parts work, and mindful crafting for a practice that invites you to love all parts of yourself, even the parts that feel difficult.

Join Gina Hughes of and Alyssa Booth of for Befriending the Dark, an evening for women that is full of restorative candlelit movement, reflection, and creative ritual inspired by the longest night of the year.

Together, we’ll explore how the darkness within and around us can serve as a teacher, guiding us towards deeper self-awareness and healing.

Through gentle, restorative movement practiced in candlelit darkness, you’ll be invited to turn inward to listen to your inner voice, the quiet light that always remains.

Alyssa will lead a reflective teaching on Parts Work, exploring how our shadows and hidden parts can become allies rather than adversaries.

We’ll close with a mindful mini mala-making ritual, stringing black and white semi-precious stones to symbolize the balance of light and dark, the wholeness that emerges when we welcome every part of ourselves.
