Kelsey’s Crossing

Kelsey’s Crossing Your connection for Advance Directives, Living Wills, End of Life planning, End of life Doula Dedicated to the loving memory of my younger sister, Kelsey Alyce.

Her death at 29 was sudden, unexpected, and heart breaking for my family. Going through this experience moved me to do something to help. By deciding what she wanted at her end of life long before it should have ever been a concern, she took some of the burden off of family when it was time. She made the hard choices for them. Her organ donations saved lives and brought hope to others. I do this w

ork with the hope of helping others to be prepared, to make the hard choices now, and allow families time to be with and grieve for their loved ones instead of agonizing over what should be done and the guilt that often comes with those decisions.

Join us 3-4:30 pm, the third Sunday of each month, including Sunday, Jan. 19, at ABODE. Our special Exploring Our Grief support group is facilitated by our own End of Life Navigator, Certified Grief Educator and ABODE Doula John Vinson.

Grief is the normal and natural emotional response to change or loss of any kind – especially when it comes to the death of a loved one. Grief is also the result of unmet hopes, dreams and expectations and the loss of intangible concepts such as safety, trust, security, respect, faith…and hope.

We’ll learn so much from John’s contemplative guidance, especially in deepening our knowledge, attitudes and behaviors related to grief.

Please RSVP to info@abodehome.org, and feel free to bring anyone you think would benefit from John’s contemplative approach to everything, including grief. We’d love to have you with us!

What a pleasure it is to be part of such a beautiful place that provides such beautiful moments

The spirit of ABODE is always bright during the holidays – especially during our annual Holiday Luminarias Lighting.

This season, we’ll light close to 500 luminarias in our back yard in honor and in memory of the Guests we’ve loved and cared for since we opened our doors almost 10 years ago.

We invite YOU to participate by purchasing luminarias in honor of those you love, as well. Use the QR code to order your personalized luminarias.

Then plan to join us for our annual Holiday Luminarias Lighting outdoors, 5-7 pm, Sunday, Dec. 15, at ABODE, 8619 Post Oak Lane, in San Antonio. Our celebration features the fabulous Conroy Christmas Carolers along with Mexican hot chocolate, wines and homemade cookies.

Please remember that your donations to ABODE are tax-deductible – and so very helpful to us, especially at the end of the year.

Wishing you a very warm – and safe – holiday season!
