Christus Santa Rosa at West Over has built us an amazing office for our Neurosurgery Group. It has been an amazing partnership of collaboration and trust. We have met amazing leadership within Christus. We couldn’t be more grateful for taking a chance on each other and building this amazing group! We are definitely framing this picture and hanging it in the lobby has a reminder that great partnerships are possible between a great health organization and the right group of doctors. Dr Garces performed the first Mazor surgery at Christus West Over Hospital. The Mazor robot, in spine surgery, refers to a system used to assist surgeons in performing precise and minimally invasive procedures. It typically helps in guiding surgical instruments with high precision, improving accuracy, reducing recovery time, and minimizing tissue damage. Overall, it aims to enhance the outcomes of spine surgeries.

Using the Mazor robot in spine surgery offers several benefits:
1. Precision: The robot provides highly accurate guidance, allowing surgeons to place instruments and implants with great accuracy.
2. Minimally Invasive: It enables minimally invasive procedures, which means smaller incisions, less muscle damage, and quicker recovery times for patients.
3. Reduced Risk: By enhancing the surgeon’s ability to operate precisely, it can reduce the risk of complications during surgery.
4. Better Outcomes: Patients often experience less pain and faster recovery, leading to improved overall outcomes.

Overall, the Mazor robot helps to make spine surgeries safer and more effective.

Please join us to welcome Dr Prabhakar to TNSPINE. We are super excited to have him in our TNSPINE family. Dr. Gautham Prabhakar is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon specializing in the comprehensive care of spinal disorders. A true native of Texas, he completed his medical degree at Texas Tech University health Sciences Center in El Paso and went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science center in San Antonio. He further advanced his expertise through a spine surgery fellowship in San Diego under Dr. Gregory Mundis, a renowned spinal deformity surgeon, and Dr. Robert Eastlack, who helped develop many new techniques in the world of spine surgery. Dr. Prabhakar is well trained in the latest minimally invasive and complex spinal techniques.
With a deep commitment to patient care, Dr. Prabhakar joined Texas Neuro Spine to bring high-quality, personalized spine care to the San Antonio community. His approach combines cutting-edge surgical methods with a conservative mindset, prioritizing motion preservation and long-term outcomes.
Outside the operating room, Dr. Prabhakar values spending quality time with his family and exploring the outdoors. He enjoys hiking, traveling, trying new restaurants, and staying active. He is passionate about helping patients regain their quality of life through both surgical and nonsurgical spine care.

During the summer we bring our kids to the office to help with clinic and simple tasks. Our college daughter is working on the front office and our 8year old helps with administrative simple tasks. Involving young children in simple tasks can be beneficial for several reasons. It helps build their sense of responsibility and accomplishment, boosts their confidence, and teaches them important life skills. Additionally, it can strengthen the bond between you and your child and help them understand the value of teamwork and cooperation. It’s also a great way to spend quality time together and create lasting memories.
