At Pediatric Constellations, our mission is more than just connecting families with highly qualified therapists specializing in Speech Therapy (ST), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Physical Therapy (PT), and Occupational Therapy (OT). We are also dedicated to fostering a safe and supportive community where families can connect with other caregivers who have similar experiences with a diagnosis.

Our platform is designed to cater to your child's unique strengths, abilities, and needs, while also providing a space for parents to share experiences, advice, and support. We believe in a collaborative approach, where families, therapists, and peers work together to form a constellation of support, guiding your child towards greater independence and success. With Pediatric Constellations, quality therapy services, community support, and peer connections are just a click away.

Making kids laugh helps them learn faster—maybe not a scientific fact, but it should be!

Curious about what controls muscle tension? Here’s the answer...

IT'S THE BRAIN!

But sometimes, the brain’s signals to the muscles don’t come through clearly—like a phone call with bad reception.

For kids with low muscle tone, the brain’s “call” doesn’t fully connect, causing delays or lost signals.

So, how can we strengthen this weak connection?

Good news! Research shows that engaging in specific activities to activate muscles can improve this signal.

It’s like walking a path through tall grass: the more you walk, the clearer the path becomes. Similarly, repeated muscle activation strengthens the brain’s connection, helping to increase muscle tension.

🚀 You don’t have to do this alone. Let’s find a therapist who accepts your insurance and truly cares for kids—adding someone to your team who’s here to support your child’s journey every step of the way. LINK IN BIO.🌟

Why it works...

These strategies work because they make hearing "no" less scary and more fun.

When kids see a toy getting told "no," it feels safer for them, and they can practice their response without feeling upset.

Using a funny catchphrase makes the lesson enjoyable, and seeing that they can still have fun even if they can't do exactly what they want helps them learn that "no" doesn't mean they have to feel bad.

This helps kids build confidence and feel better about hearing "no" in real life.

🌟 BTW! You don't have to do this alone. I would love to find the perfect therapist for your family. Use the link in our BIO to let us know what you are looking for. 🚀

Autistic Kids need the best tools! Here is the best noise canceling headphone:

We scored each headphone from 1 to 5, with 1 being the worst and 5 being excellent.

Be honest...

Can you really learn when you're upset or crying?

When kids feel scared or stressed, we need to help them calm down first. If we aren't calm and happy, it's not the right time to learn new things. It's time to relax instead, so that you can later learn new things.

Big shoutout to Deputy Cavazos and the San Antonio Police Department for helping a lost autistic child stay safe and sound until his dad arrived. Deputy Cavazos was quick to assist and demonstrated such professionalism and compassion. She knew exactly how to read the body language of a non-speaking autistic child and helped him calm down. Thank you, Deputy Cavazos!

We have been working on coping, communication, and play skills.

Today's activity was to color together with only one water marker and one picture.

We made a plan to take turns coloring the animals. When I thought it was my turn, she mentioned she missed a spot and that I needed to be patient! Mom, Dad, and I laughed so hard. But there's more.

She learned this phrase from hearing her dad! This patient is a gestalt learner, which means she learns in phrases.

We know great occupational therapists and speech-language therapists who specialize in gestalt language processing.

In this video, an autistic child is jumping to gain more information about his body. He struggles to move his body if he closes his eyes; for example, when asked to "close your eyes and touch your knee," he has to open his eyes to see his arm and knee to perform the task.

A compression vest was used to increase his body awareness, enabling him to balance himself with his eyes closed without losing balance—successfully improving his coordination.

This type of sensory stimulation is practiced by occupational, speech, and physical therapists.

If you are ready to find a therapist that accepts your insurance and is close to your home, use the link in our bio, and we can match you with a therapist.
