We want to give a big congratulations on "Hazel's" huge achievement on her fundraising and becoming SNIPSA's 18th annual Face of the race! We are so proud!
We want to introduce you all to Happy Happy Hazel, who, after several weeks of campaigning, has earned the title of SNIPSAβs 18th Annual Face of the Race! π€ Hazel is a certified therapy dog who has devoted her life to helping others, bringing joy to everyone she meets.
Since 2017, Hazel has been a cherished part of the therapy animal program at the Childrenβs Bereavement Center of South Texas. She has also brought comfort to young patients at the Childrenβs Hospital, families at the Ronald McDonald House, and children of deployed military service members through her visits with NEISD. In 2022, Hazel was deployed through the Crisis Animal Response (CARE) program with Therapy Animals of San Antonio to Uvalde in response to the school tragedy. Just recently, Hazel traveled to Kerrville to provide emotional support for families affected by the devastating floods. π
Hazel has touched so many hearts, including ours. In a last act of kindness before her retirement, she participated in SNIPSAβs annual Face of the Race competition. Hazel raised $38,829 for rescue animals, as well as underserved pets in need of spays/neuters, microchips, and vaccines.
As a whole, this fundraiser raised an astounding $87,643 for SNIPSAβs rescue mission β a new record! π Special mention to Kit Kat, who was a very close runner-up, and Sookie, who had the most individual donors in Face of the Race history. We canβt thank you all enough for your contributions and hard work.
Hazelβs dedication and warm heart make her a deserving winner.
CONGRATULATIONS, Hazel! πβ¨π«Ά
