Summer heat and humidity are not kind to hearing aids. Hereโ€™s how to keep your devices in top shape all summer long:

KEEP THEM DRY: Sweat and moisture can damage internal components. Use a hearing aid dehumidifier overnight or wipe them down daily with a dry, soft cloth.
WATCH THE HEAT: Never leave your hearing aids in a hot car or in direct sunlight. High temps can warp the plastic or damage batteries.
USE SWEAT-PROOF COVERS: If youโ€™re active outdoors, consider using hearing aid sleeves or sweatbands to protect from dripping perspiration.
HANDLE SUNSCREEN WITH CARE: Apply sunscreen first, wash your hands, and then put in your hearing aids. Oils and lotions can clog microphones and tubing.
PACK SMART FOR TRAVEL: Bring extra batteries, a cleaning kit, and a small case to keep your hearing aids safe on the go.

Summertime is time for fun and travel. But did you know that where you sit on a plane, or at a restaurant, concert or sports stadium, can have a big impact on your hearing health?

Protect your ears by following these tips:
Restaurants: Sit away from kitchens, speakers, and busy walkways
Planes: Choose seats ahead of the enginesโ€”closer to the front
Concerts/stadiums: Stand or sit away from speakers and wear discreet earplugs

A little location strategy today can help preserve your hearing for years to come.
