Dear Patients,
After 36 years working as a solo practitioner, I am announcing the closure of my OB/GYN private practice effective September 30, 2023. Moving forward, I will be taking a teaching position with abbreviated clinical duties at the Long School of Medicine here in San Antonio, under the umbrella of the University of Texas Health Science Center.
This has been a difficult decision, and saying farewell is undoubtedly emotional. I’ve treated many of you for decades, cared for families through multiple generations, and shared some of your toughest hardships and greatest joys. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for the opportunity to serve as your doctor, to care for you and learn from you. It has been the experience of a lifetime.
I would also like to take this moment to thank my staff, who have steadfastly worked with me over the years to provide you all with the best quality care. They have supported me and this practice through good and hard times, from its earliest days to the day we close our doors. Thank you for all your work, your care, and your dedication.
I will miss each of you immensely, and continue to feel a deep responsibility for your health. To that end, I have arranged for Erika Price, M.D., at Seven Oaks Women’s Center, to assume the continuation of your care.
Dr. Price is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as trained and certified in da Vinci Robotic Surgery. She received her medical degree from Creighton University in Nebraska, graduating summa cm laude, and completed her residency here in San Antonio, where she received multiple teaching awards as well as the AAGL Recognition of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology. Upon the closure of my office, I will transfer custody of your medical records to Dr. Price for the continuation of your care, given I have seen you as a patient within the last three years. By law, you may request these records be transferred to any physician of your choice. Should you choose to see a different provider, please contact Dr. Price’s office to coordinate written authorization and payment of a statutory fee to defray copying costs. After both are received, Dr. Price will transfer your records as directed.
I will be retaining the records for patients last seen in 2020 or prior years. For those requesting transfer of records who I have not seen within the last three years, please contact my office prior to September 30 with authorization. After October 1st, please send written authorization to 10 Parman Place, San Antonio, TX 78230.
Once more thank you all for the honor, privilege, and joy of being your physician. I look forward to continuing my journey in medicine with the Health Science Center. My position there will include a weekly clinic dedicated to the care of private patients with vulvar skin diseases.
