Our patient came in with chronic Right hip pain that had been limiting her mileage for months. Every run past 3 miles = pain.

Chances are you’re dealing with calf tendinopathy and can benefit from dry needling!

Tendons are composed of dense collagen fibers with poor vascularity, meaning it has poorer blood supply compared to other tissue like muscle. However, dry needling can be an effective way to increase blood flow to the site of injury to promote healing and recovery.

Our patient first came to us for a running analysis after having bilateral hamstring and calf pain while training for the SA half marathon. WE found that she had weak hip and ankle/foot stabilizers as well hamstring tendinopathy and posterior tibialis tendinopathy in both legs.

Treatment included dry needling, manual therapy, mobility and strengthening work for the muscles surround her hips and ankles/feet. We worked on her running program together as her treatment physical therapy treatment plan progressed. Ravee was consistent with her exercises outside of the clinic and her new running program. Her hard work payed off and she is now running the SA half marathon pain free and stronger than ever!

Our athlete just made history on the Rogue stage at the Arnold Classic, matching the American record total of 418 kg, Sn**ch 185 kg | Clean & Jerk 233 kg!

What makes this even more impressive? He’s achieved this while managing wrist sprains, rotator cuff strains, low back pain, and chronic tendinopathies. Through targeted PT, we’ve addressed muscle imbalances, low back endurance, and mobility restrictions, keeping him competition-ready.
