Fun Fact Friday!!
“Fuch’s Corneal Dystrophy is more common in women, due to an X-Linked gene”
What is Fuch’s Corneal Dystrophy?
Fuch’s is a genetic disease that affects the cornea and causes vision issues. This then affects a thin layer of cells that lines the back part of the cornea.
These cells actually help pump excess fluids out of the cornea. As more and more cells are lost, fluid begins to build up, causing swelling and clouding of the cornea.
