UT Health San Antonio,  Emergency Health Sciences Initial Ed UTHSCSA EHS offers initial training for EMT-B and Paramedic Certification. We also offer an online Bachelor's degree available to certified paramedics.

EMS Education

Under the direction of Leslie Hernandez EdE., this division coordinates all levels of EMS certification, Bachelor of Science in Emergency Health Sciences, NREMT and DSHS approved EMS continuing education; and, as an AHA designated Training Center, all American Heart Association Life Support certificate courses. . Our EMT-Basic and Paramedic programs award college credit for successful completion. Division of Pre-hospital Services

Under the direction of Mark Dieterle, the Pre-hospital Services division offers continuing education, medical direction, infection control activities, and quality assurance and improvement for contracted EMS agencies.

Our prayers to Lubbock FD and PD...very sad to hear the news of a Police Officer and Firefighter struck and killed by a motorist early this morning while working an emergency vehicle accident scene. Another Firefighter is fighting for his life. Prayers for them all...very tragic.
