Adria is originally from Fort Worth, TX. She finds a deep sense of fulfillment in being a caregiver and truly believes it’s her life’s purpose. She cares for others the way she hopes to be cared for. After the pandemic made his work more remote, Merne Asplund found himself longing for more face-to-face interaction and a way to give back in a meaningful way. 🌟 Highlighting Our Caregivers! 🌟

Meet Umekia Edwards.

Umekia has been with Griswold SA since 2023 and is from right here, San Antonio, TX. She finds fulfillment in helping others and loves the one-on-one aspect of caregiving, which allows her to make a meaningful impact. Meeting new people, building intentional bonds, and creating beautiful memories with those in her care are what she enjoys most.

She is always striving to grow — both as a caregiver and as an individual. Achieving financial stability and maintaining a healthy lifestyle are important goals for her. Outside of caregiving, she enjoys reading, shopping, cooking, and watching sports with her family. She draws most of her inspiration in life from her grandmother and father.

Umekia cares for her clients with great thoughtfulness. She understands dementia well and will pick up extra shifts outside her normal schedule just to make sure her client sees a familiar face. She truly goes the extra mile, and we are so thankful to have her as a member of our team. 💙
