John’s Post Op Update, 03/07/2024, 6:16 AM
John spent the night in ICU which is typical for transplant patients. Immediately following surgery, in true John fashion, he was asking about Jake and wanting to know how he was doing in surgery. ♥️ He was also in and out of sleep but cracking jokes any chance he could!! We had the nurses laughing for sure!
He did really well through the night but didn’t sleep much after his anesthesia wore off. His kidney is working magnificently as of right now and his pain is being managed. The hope is that he is moved out of ICU today and to the regular medical transplant unit for monitoring until he is ready for discharge in a few days.
Unfortunately due to his immune system being vulnerable right now (which helps to prevent rejection of the kidney) visitation while in the hospital is VERY limited. This is to limit the chances of unnecessary germs being spread to him which could cause complications.
Please feel free to reach out to me at any time for more info!! I will continue to periodically post updates.
Thank you again for all of the prayers. On behalf of John, his family, and all extended family we are so appreciative!! Please continue to pray for proper healing 🙏🏽
