Your mind has a voice.
Sometimes the voice is sweet & kind.
Other times it may be dark & harmful. Itâs ok to acknowledge those thoughts, but donât let them stay for too long. Thoughts come in like the waves of the ocean.
Sometimes they are soft & gentle, other times they can be fierce like a hurricane.
We need to learn to say no to those hurtful, worrisome thoughts. Feelings are normal, but they can also change on a dime. They too, come and they go, just like the waves.
We need to understand this and learn how to live above them, not by them. You are not your thoughts.
Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy. Think about what you might have thought about yourself in the last week that might have been nagative.
Iâll never finish this task
My marriage sucks & itâs my fault Iâm too weak to beat this disease
In not smart enough to fight for this promotion
I could never go to that school or be on that team
Why canât I be as patient, kind, pretty, smart, successful, educated as that person
So many times we are paralyzed from our forward movement because we hold ourselves down. We compare our journeys, our losses, our victories, our marriages, our jobs, our dreams & our families with everyone elseâs- especially because of social media. In our minds we fall short. We are never enough.
When our worth begins to crumble, when we lose our confidence, when insecurities overwhelm us, we have to remember who we are. Itâs pretty amazing how our identity lays the groundwork for everything. So remind yourself how much God loves you and that He has a unique purpose for you!
