Adam was born in a small town, Grand Island, Nebraska and raised in suburban Omaha, Nebraska. Adam's parents are both educators by training and he comes from a long line of clergy. His mentors impressed upon him the importance of lifelong learning, balancing family and work, and caring for the whole person. Adam completed his
Bachelor's degree in Health Administration and Policy at Creighton University, a Jesuit school in Omaha, Nebraska. While in college he received many accolades, including being selected as the school-wide orientation director, for the Honors College, for the Youth Leadership Council, and for Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership fraternity. Adam then elected to pursue a Masters degree in Hospital Administration at Trinity University in San Antonio. It was there that he met his wife, the former Christen Godwin. Together they have two children, Mia and Ethan, and a dog, Bailey. Upon completing his hospital administration training with an administrative internship at Methodist Healthcare in San Antonio, Adam went on to pursue his Medical Doctor degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He finished first in his class and was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha honors medical fraternity. Adam was selected by the University of Florida for residency training in Orthopaedics. While there, he was part of the University of Florida athletic team physicians responsible for the musculoskeletal and spine care of all University of Florida athletes. He was the only Orthopaedic Resident in the United States selected as a Resident Representative for the Association of American Medical Colleges, which is the governing organization for all medical schools. He also served on the academic leadership committee for the American Orthopaedic Association, the invitation-only organization for top leaders in orthopaedics in the United States. He was nominated for, and currently serves as, a member of the Emerging Leaders within the same organization. He was also selected as a member of the Leadership College for the Texas Medical Association and serves on the board of the Texas Orthopaedic Association. Adam completed his Fellowship in Spine Surgery at the South Texas Spinal Clinic located in San Antonio. Patient Care Philosophy
