On this day in history, The Village at Incarnate Word opened its doors 37 years ago! 😍🎉

As we celebrate our anniversary, we’re looking back at the day our journey began: September 8, 1988. While a lot has changed over the years, our commitment to our mission and the vision of our founders, The Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, has remained the same.

To all the residents, families, staff, volunteers, donors, and friends who have been part of our story over the years — thank you! Your continued support and belief in our mission have shaped The Village into the vibrant community it is today. ❤️

When a current Village resident refers a friend to live at The Village, they receive a $3,000 referral bonus when that person moves in! This month's presentation, "Let's Talk Speech Therapy", will be presented by Speech Language Pathologist, Pearl Herrera, with Select Rehabilitation. This Speaker Series dinner will explore the vital role that speech, language, voice, and cognitive skills play in maintaining independence and quality of life. Thank you for helping our Village GROW! 🌱

Earlier this week, our Village community came together for a joyful Courtyard Happy Hour Fundraiser in support of our courtyard beautification efforts. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our residents, staff, donors, and friends, we have raised $15,000 so far toward our goal of $35,000 (43% of the way there)! 💚

During the event, we unveiled a special new giving opportunity — the Heritage Walkway, which will be located in the Dubuis Courtyard between CHRISTUS Heritage Hall and the Heritage Center. As a supporting donor, you’ll be honored with a personalized engraved brick or paver — featuring your name or a message of your choice.

We had a blast at our annual community Luau yesterday! 😁🍹🌺

Mahalo to Kai Kamaka for the fantastic live music, to Chef Frank and his team for the incredible roasted pig, piña coladas, and delicious Hawaiian feast, and to all the staff and volunteers who helped make it happen. It was the perfect way to wrap up an amazing summer! 💙

Today we’re celebrating a remarkable milestone — 25 years of dedicated service from our amazing team member, Doris Singleton! ❤️

Doris has been a constant, positive presence at our Main Entrance reception desk, and for 25 years, she has brought our mission to life every single day. She helps keep things running smoothly, shares plenty of laughs, and serves our residents with compassion, dignity, and love. Doris truly helps make The Village the special place it is! 🥰
