We are dedicated to our mission "Changing Lives Through Comprehensive Treatment of Substance Use Disorders". Lifetime Recovery is the largest non-profit residential substance abuse treatment facility in Bexar and surrounding counties. Lifetime’s mission is to provide for the care of those with little or no financial resources to access services. No client is turned away strictly for the inability to pay.

Since 1963, Lifetime Recovery has aided thousands of individuals seeking recovery. Founded on the principals of Alcoholics Anonymous, Lifetime offers professional, evidenced-based, cognitive behavioral therapy and treatment with a curriculum utilizing a holistic approach to life change.

Lifetime provides outpatient and residential treatment to men and women for alcoholism, co***ne addiction, prescription (including opioids) medication abuse, methamphetamines, he**in, and other addictive. Lifetime’s core philosophy is to provide a powerful experience for each client, with the goal of providing systemic change in everyone who experiences treatment at its centers. Our programs make it possible for children to be returned to mothers, for brothers to reconnect with brothers, for fathers to become fathers again, and for families to be reunited. One day at a time turns into a lifetime, and our community is forever changed for the better. Substance Use Disorders, commonly known as drug abuse or alcoholism, impact families, children, friends, and the entire community. Substance Misuse, the use of any substance in a manner that harms oneself or others can lead to a Substance Use Disorder diagnosis. Almost everyone knows someone whose life has been affected by Substance Misuse or a Substance Use Disorder. Studies show that 1 in 7 people will develop a substance use disorder at some point in their lives. NO ONE IS EVER TURNED AWAY FOR LACK OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES.

You don’t need alcohol to ring in a strong new year. Try this:

✨ Make a plan — know where you’ll be and who you’ll be with
🚗 Drive yourself — always have an exit
📱 Stay connected — check in with someone in recovery
🥤 Bring your own drink — mocktails count
🕰 Leave early if needed — protecting sobriety is a win
🎉 Celebrate the win — waking up sober on Jan 1 is huge

However you spend the night, choose what supports your recovery.
One night. One choice. One day at a time.

This was created by our residential clients as a thank-you to our alumni.

Every note, signature, and message reflects real gratitude for the way our alumni consistently show up — week after week, year after year.

From weekly speaker meetings to ice cream socials, Christmas parties, Big Books, and ongoing fundraising, our alumni don’t just give back — they stay connected.

That connection matters.
It reminds current clients that recovery doesn’t end at discharge — it continues through community, service, and showing up for the next person.

To our alumni: thank you for never forgetting where you came from — and for reaching back every step of the way.

This is what giving back looks like. 🎄

Our alumni spent time stuffing stockings for our residential clients.

It’s not about what’s inside the stocking.
It’s about showing up, staying connected, and reminding clients they’re not alone — especially during the holidays.

To our alumni: thank you for coming back and lifting up those who are right where you once were.

This artwork was created by one of our residential clients.

In their own words and paint, they captured something recovery often gives before anything else: self-worth, growth, and hope.

Healing doesn’t always show up loudly.
Sometimes it looks like reflection.
Sometimes it looks like honesty.
Sometimes it looks like putting words to pain — and turning it into something rooted and alive.

We’re honored to witness moments like this every day at Lifetime Recovery.

Because recovery deserves support at every level. 🥎

Through a generous anonymous donation, our alumni stepped up to purchase brand-new softball gloves for our residential clients.

These aren’t just gloves.
They’re tools for connection, confidence, teamwork, and healthy fun — all critical in early recovery.

Recovery is stronger when it comes full circle.
