(Daddies, Grandparents, or anyone who loves their kiddos are welcome, too) My goal is to use my background as a parent and a music educator to share the joy of music with you and your little one. We will sing and play games that are fun, educational, and will develop skills appropriate to your child’s age. The repertoire will include a variety of music from folk songs to nursery rhymes, from classical music to rock…and everything in between! Seasonal and some non-denominational Christian songs will also be included (think Frosty the Snowman and Jesus Loves Me). Equipment will be kept to a minimum because the goal here is to teach you some techniques and songs that you will be able to use at home, in the car, or wherever your little musician wants to show off his/her skills, needs some soothing, or redirection. Class Descriptions by age group:
0-1* This class requires parent participation! I'm not looking for perfect singing, but your little one will respond best to your voice. These activities enhance the bond between you and your child while developing motor, cognitive, and language skills.
2* This class still involves a little parent participation. A continuation of the younger class, this group adds additional fundamental musical skills. We will also develop preschool skills such as counting, colors, etc.
3-5* This class still involves a little parent participation, but less than the two-year-old class (the older kids will require less than the younger…) This group will strengthen the musical foundation we previously built and include vocal and aural development through more structured songs and games.
