Hailing from San Antonio and a proud graduate of Harlan High School, Serene joined our team in December 2024 and has been spreading positivity ever since! From creating animations to crafting cosplay costumes, her creativity shines both in and out of work. 🎨🧵

Her favorite food? Crab! 🦀 And her favorite quality? That ever-present smile and willingness to lend a hand wherever she’s needed. We’re so lucky to have Serene as part of our community!

🌟 Resident Spotlight: Marilyn Canady 🌟

This June, we’re honored to shine a light on the wonderful Marilyn Canady! Born and raised in Monterey, CA, Marilyn is the proud granddaughter of Sicilian immigrants. With the exception of two years in Denver, she spent her life on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula before moving to San Antonio in 2006 with her beloved husband, Elmer.

Marilyn and Elmer shared 52 beautiful years of marriage. Elmer, an Army veteran and dedicated teacher, passed away in 2024 after battling ALS. Marilyn is a retired teacher and master’s-prepared librarian whose passions include cooking, reading, and Bible study. 📚🍳🙏

She has three loving children—Danny and Elissa (Kyle) in San Antonio, and Kevin (Annaliese) in Nashville—as well as seven cherished grandchildren. 💕

Marilyn and Elmer were actively involved in ministries at Oak Hills Church, and she now attends First Chinese Baptist Church with her daughter’s family. Today, she enjoys participating in the many activities at Lynridge and truly loves being part of the Lynridge family.

We are so grateful to have Marilyn’s warmth, wisdom, and joyful spirit in our community! 💐
