By 8 weeks your baby is the size of a gummy bear! (around 1.5 cm).
The brain, spinal cord, heart, lungs, and intestines are forming more complex structures.
The heart is beating strongly—often around 150–170 beats per minute—and the chambers are becoming more defined.
The beginnings of the eyes, nose, upper lip, and ears are becoming more recognizable.
Tiny arms and legs are lengthening.
Elbows start forming, and small fingers and toes are beginning to separate (though still webbed).
The embryo is making small, spontaneous movements, though they aren’t felt yet
